Erronous Statements. Part 1.

Sep 10, 2005 23:51

I was conversing with a friend and she told me someone she knew said this:

'OK, here's how it works in the real world: people that are unaccepted usually die early deaths, have chronic depression, find no meaning in life, and live in social solitude.'

Is this true or not true? Answer freely.

:EDIT:

I think its save to say I hate you.

Depends on whether to feeling of rejection is something they know or something that they have to get used to.

Have you ever seen Life is Beautiful? The main character makes the best out of any situation (even death camps). It's got nothing to do with rejection (unless it's rejection with violence). It has to do with your outlook on things.

I don't think that's true. People responded to not being accepted based on their personality. Some people take it as a challenge and strive to be accepted, some say "I don't give a fuck what others think about me", and some suffer from the symptoms listed above, but only some.

The outlook that the quote protrays is horrible and very pessimistic. This person sounds like an ASSHOLE that I wouldn't really want to meet. And if I did I would make room for them on my list of those who should refrain from speaking to me.
