So glad to have found you!

Its amazing, the casting of Hutz as Alex. Gogol Bordello is very close to my heart. Its still difficult to believe the pieces fell this way, to have him playing Alex.

In case you are interested, here's a good source of pictures of Hutz for your icon-making:

It's the same for me. I still have a hard time believing it: my favourite book by my favourite author being made into a movie starring my favourite actor and the lead man from my favourite band.

The first one Voila Intruder is wonderful and raw, well written strong immigrant-experience flavor and sounds like it was recorded in their apt. A classic.

The second, Multi Kontra Culti, is a fantastic album based more on their live shows, which you must see as soon as possible. No recording can ever give you even a realistic an idea of their magic live. They revived my faith in rock and maybe humans.

The latest album, (and you can try them all at their site, I think, http://www.gogolbordello.com ) I'm not as in love with but it is still a great album.

Also you have to hear J.U.F. which is a side project of Hutz's (and some of the other members) and Tamir Muskat of Balkan Beatbox (http://www.balkanbeatbox.com) You must hear BBB, too. Delicious stuff.

I hope they are palying near you soon. Wear comfortable shoes.

I second the necessity of seeing them live. There isn't a more powerful and intense experience to be found anywhere in the realm of music, theatre, or film.

As for the albums, you'll have the most luck actually finding in stores their latest album, Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike, but don't let that thwart you from finding the others.
