Condo Update-Loan in Special Risk Assessment ( sigh)

I made a polite inquiry of my loan officer this morning about where things were. She told me it was supposed to be final last night, but were running late. 5 minutes later she e-mails me and my Realtor that the underwriters are now putting my file into Special Risk Assessment & wont have a final answer until Feb 5th ( Read more... )

Keep your chin up! I really feel your frustration and stress and hope you take good care of yourself through all of this It's really a good thing that mortgage places are being so much more cautious in assessing loan risks as it was being too careless that sent us careening into this recession. It's frustrating and deeply personal to be assessed like this, but at least you can feel confident in the situation when it all goes through and you're in the loan. Good luck and warm thoughts :)

Thank you dear.

The situation is still unnerving, but some of the stress is going down. The Loan officer e-mailed me explaining a little more. There was a concern about losing my Earnest money, but as long as I get an answer before Feb 12th, I can get it back if declined on the loan.

Sorry I didn't get to see you at the last few parties. I'll do my best to make the next one (when not booked up so early-very rare for me).

Sorry to hear things are stressing you. I wuld be in full-blown panic mode in your shoes. I'm wishing you all the best. Have a good weekend despite it all.

Did you hear about last night/this morning's earthquake? It was a 4-point-something centered in Kingston. Could explain why your cats were acting up, driving you crazy. My client's dog was barking like mad, keeping up the new baby, and she couldn't figure out why until I walked in this morning and asked if the dogs had freaked out over the quake. She was awake but never felt it.
