Cara wandered over to the desk where Kahlan was standing. She leaned her elbows on the table. “So what are we doing Partner?”
Kahlan quirked an eyebrow. “Did you not hear a word the teacher said?”
Cara flashed a cheeky smile. “Nope. Well I know we’re drawing something.”
“Wow. We’re drawing something in art. Surprising.”
Cara smiled. “Huh. You sure are grumpy today. I like it.”
Kahlan let out a wide yawn. “Sorry. I barely got any sleep last night. And I have a massive hangover.”
Cara led her outside away from all the other students. Soon they were alone in an isolated area that was shaded by trees. “Here take a nap while I draw you. Huh that sounds creepy.” She pushed Kahlan down onto a bench.
Kahlan laughed. “You’re not half as badass as you look. You’re just a softie under all that leather.”
“Shush. I’m working.” Cara had the sketchbook propped up as she stared intensely at Kahlan’s face. “Just relax.”
The last thing on Kahlan’s mind before she fell asleep was the way Cara bit her lower lip when she was concentrated.

The bell rang jolted Kahlan out of her sleep. There was a piece of paper resting on her face. She gasped when she saw what was on it. Cara had sketched her sleeping face in almost exact likeness. Written in one of the corners was a phone number.
Kahlan smiled.
