I am walking to the library to meet with Hermione again. Professor McGonagall gave us so many assignments in Transfiguration this week, I am not sure if I will ever catch up! We must have Theories of Transubstantial Transfiguration read by the end of this week! It is a very complicated book. I am having a little bit of trouble with it. At least I

I look up blinking. I didn't even see anybody in the hallway. I can't stop worrying about what will happen to Samantha and Spike because of me. In front of me is the very pretty girl I briefly saw in the library the other day. I push my glasses up on my nose and clear my throat. "I am sorry. I didn't see you there. Are you alright, Miss...?"

[meliteae]

"Oh, mais non, I am fine! Really, it is my fault. I was not watching where I was going."

He seems so nervous! As if his mind is not quite with him, but many steps ahead.

[watcherwesley]

"No, no, I am sure it was my fault. Umm, I've seen you around school. At the library. My name is Wesley Wyndham-Pryce. It is very nice to meet you." I hold out my hand distractedly, not wanting to be rude even in my emotional crisis. Her accent is really adorable and her voice has a pleasant lilt. I hope she doesn't think I am a complete loser.

I smile shyly at him and shake his hand. He's so polite!! Every other student here seems to have lost their manners. We would never be allowed to do or say many of the things I see happen here back home.

"Bonne chance! I have noticed you too, with Samantha, and that strange boy with the white hair. Je m'appelle Violaine, Violaine Danvers."

[meliteae]

"Hermione is quite sweet, she has a lot of patience with me. She would like it if you came and studied with us, I think . . . no one ever comes to the library! I suppose the other students have other things on their minds. She has a studying group for Gryffindor students, but she would like it if you came." I push the door to the library open, talking more quietly now. "There is nothing wrong with being different..." I do not know what to say to this boy about his family. It seems to go much further than him wanting to be accepted. "I do not have any sisters or brothers either. It is just me and Mother and Father. . . I think sometimes that it would be nice to have a brother or a sister, but I do not mind too much." I sit down at an empty table in the corner of the library.

[watcherwesley]

"Well, if you are sure she wouldn't mind. I don't have anyone to study with in Hufflepuff. I think because I am head boy, the other students are afraid I will tattle on them. Or maybe they just don't like me. I don't know." I whisper back, pulling out a chair opposite her and putting the books down quietly. "Do you want me to look up some research material?" I offer. I stand quietly, waiting for her to tell me what to do.

[meliteae]

"Head boy, merveilleuse! You must have to work very hard. I am sure they like you, perhaps they are jealous." I motion for him to sit down again and smile. "Thank you, but I will try to read my Transfiguration book first. I will ask you if I have trouble." I remove my book from the stack and set it on the table, opening it to the chapter I left off on, with little intent to read it.

[watcherwesley]

I blush at her enthusiastic praise. "Thank you. I enjoy school work. It makes sense, studying, testing, getting good grades. It is everything else that seems confusing to me." I sit down, unsure what I should be doing. I put my hand on top of one of my books, but I don't open it. I am feeling very self-conscious. I slip my hands under the table and wipe my damp palms on my robes. "So, umm, what are you studying in Transfiguration?" I ask, my voice slightly cracking from being nervous. I hope she didn't notice.

I'm heading out for the evening in a bit of a foul mood since I got quite a bump on the back of my head practicing with Spike today. He's so clumsy.

I walk down the hall in slay gear when I see Wesley and crazy french girl totally flirting...well, however nerds flirt, and I have to say something. Walking right upto them and smirking at Wesley.

"...could you be more smitten?"

[meliteae]

My eyes go wide, embarrassed. It's that girl from the train who I've seen with Wesley and the white-haired boy before. Samantha, I think. I am a little frightened by her, and I do not like her tone.

[watcherwesley]

I look up surprised and embarrassed. "Oh! Samantha! Hi! Umm, how are you? I am really sorry about that incident in the training room. I hope you didn't get in trouble. I am really sorry." I pause to take a breath. "Do you know Violaine? She is a transfer student, from Beauxbatons."

I nod. Oh yeah, her name is Violane...

"We met before, we actually room together..."

I nudge Vi a little, as if we're buddies, even though we've probably talked only a couple times in passing.

"you watch out for those Hufflepuff boys, they're casanovas alright..."

I give Wesley a little aimiable smirk
