[The entry is written in a hurried, boyish script, though probably even less tidy than usual, not quite managing to stay in-line while some words are miswritten or slurred together. There are also some spatters of liquid across the page where precious rum has been spilt.]Hey thisstuffs pretty goood. I’mm gonna get some ( Read more... )

[Rain hadn't yet seen Spring's inebriated journal entry, and therefore hadn't expected to encounter anything but empty whiteness when he caught the elevator down to the Wilderness. Yes, he was going there alone... but he wanted to be alone right now, and he had his journal with him in case he was unable to find someone to head back with ( ... )

[Spring had a reason to be in Tortuga that day. His job had him on duty, so exploring the new Wilderness that appeared was top priority. He had been a little too enthusiastic, excited to once again see a place that was different from the blank wilderness they had for the past two weeks. He had run ahead and promptly lost his group of fellow adventurers among the crowded streets ( ... )

[Rain had been wandering for some time, and was just beginning to consider swallowing his pride and writing in his journal for someone to come find him when he heard Spring's shout. He turned and directed a level gaze at him, not responding immediately. On the one hand, he'd found someone. He finally had a way out of this noisy, wretched place. On the other hand... he took offense at Spring's tone. What business was it of anyone's what he was doing here? Rain was positive they'd never even met, and even if they had, he owed no one an explanation.

He knew who this was, to be sure. The resemblance to Gai was glaringly obvious - this could only be his son, who went by Spring now if he recalled what he'd read in the journal correctly. He hadn't seemed quite so... confrontational in writing, though. But regardless of who he was, Rain wasn't in the mood for his attitude.]

...Do I know you? [His voice was flat; it was clearly a rhetorical question.]

[Spring had never met Rain in person, and hadn't even communicated directly with him over the journals. However, even if he had it wouldn't have changed what he was about to do just now.

Stepping closer, he leaved precariously to the left for a few seconds then managed to pull himself back upright in order to take another long swallow from the bottle in his hand. Man, that burn was addicting! He wasn't even sure how much of the stuff he had taken in, but it was making him feel pretty good. Very confident. Also, quite entitled.]

Pfff, who cares? Tha's just a detail.

[He swaggers forward, almost toppling to the side again.]

You've got 'un annoying face.

[There's a long penmark where Spring accidentally dragged the pen across the page, followed by a few more splashes of rum.]

[She has to read some of the comments before she realizes who this is.]

Spring, perhaps you ought to put down the journal until you are thinking more clearly. You may regret what you are writing, later.

Of course you are, dear. [For the first time, she's glad that sarcasm doesn't translate through writing.] However, your current actions are [Pentaps] somewhat alarming. It is not exactly polite to go about calling people 'old' and challenging them to fights, you know.
