Personally I choose to go by my real name, but that doesn't make me any less 'Cloud.' And if people wanted to still call me that, I'd answer to it.

I guess I'm both, in a way.

Now that I am thinking about it, Bell and Gai-sensei used to call me 'Lotus' when I was first here. Perhaps this is the same kind of situation.

A name is simply what you call yourself. I don't know if that makes it more or less important, but it seems to me your decision is pretty simple. Who do you feel like, Spring, Lee, or Lotus?

Okay, I will think on it.

Hmm. I feel like "Lotus" could be me, but it is not something I have gone by in my time here. "Spring" is who I have been for so long as I can remember, but "Lee" definitely feels like me too. This is why it is a problem. They are all me, but at the same time they are different parts of me. Or perhaps stages of me? I do not know if I'm ready yet to become "Lee" without more memories of who Lee really is.

For myself, I have part of my true name but I do not feel I have the right to go by that name without more knowledge of the woman who was called Romana. Until the day comes that I receive such knowledge, I remain Fred.

Some have called me Romana, and I do not mind it, but I truly prefer Fred.

Fred has become a part of you just as much as Spring has become a part of me. Perhaps that is why it is hard to let the name go, even after we have found our real names.
