i also strongly believe that church and state should be absolutely separate, not only to preserve citizens' rights to freedom of religion, but also to give the church one less reason to be corrupted.

i disagree though that religion is a moral choice - religion isn't based on morals. i would say it is based on a personal spiritual and philosophical choice. i also see nothing wrong with religious education in schools if the religious contents are not mandated by the state, and the schools tell parents upfront that they are a christian school or whatsoever.
