A/N: I wrote this on YM chat because
vin11lover asked me to tell her a bedtime story, so it’s kinda an impromptu KyuMin. Then she suggested me to post it in my community, so here it is. Ignore the writing laws; I’m too lazy to fix ‘em. It’s a drabble anyway, so enjoy.

have you heard about the prince who loved another prince?
well that prince was a handsome prince.
his hair was a tad curly, and his lips were long and alligned.
the other prince that he loved;
he was the most gorgeous man who had ever lived at that time.
his eyes were as big as doe's; and his voice, oh my his voice was exceptionally enchanting.
it was supposed to be a one-sided love,
because the first prince never thought anyone would forgive him if he was to told everyone that he wanted to have a prince as his bride.
they were in a world of stereotypes; after all.
so he kept sneaking away from his castle at night, crossing the borders of the two countries, and disguised as a poor commoner who begged for food from the castle's guards.
sometimes, he would jump into a cart that brought goods into the castle's kitchen, and wore a servant's dress so that he would be able to sneak into the dining hall, and take alook at the prince.
yet;
he never revealed his self to the prince that he loved.
the second prince was not stupid; he always felt that someone was looking at him in secret,
from a place that felt so near, yet so far away.
and he always felt that sometimes, the servant boy who came into the dining hall and served the table for him was a special boy.
little did he know that the boy was a prince, and a prince who fell for him for years on top of that.
the first prince was satisfied in doing things like this; stupid things so that his heartache would subside, because love always makes people do stupid things.
but he was a man in love; he wasn't a wizard.
he couldn't predict the future.
the father of the first prince was a king; a brilliant king that always thought of his people.
but the father of the second prince was no wiser than a raging dog.
his only desire was to conquer the world with violence, and dignity only came after a head being chopped.
it was a night after his father announced that a war was on the way, that the second prince unconciously pulled away the cloth that always
hid the servant's face.
because he couldn't think about anything then; rather that about the upcoming war, and the mysterious servant boy.
and when he did, he was stunned.
the servant boy's eyes were deep, and beautiful, and his face was not a face of a commoner.
his deep voice that penetrated against the wall when he told the prince to "let go" was able to melt even a dozen of dozens of dozens of
chocolate bars. (sorry i want to eat chocolate rn LOL)
and his hand; his hand was warm, and replied the grip of the second prince's hand with another grip and a caress to his face was all he could remember before he could hear-
"i love you"
--and a kiss was stolen from his chapped lips.
the morning was there before he could put his mind back to its place. the first prince was satisfied; horrified by the thought of he was about to go to the war today, but satisfied that he got to kiss the lips that had always been on his mind.
"Your Highness, its time." a general walked into his door, and bowed. the first prince nodded, washed his face, and slipped out from his sleeping garment into his armor suit. "we're only fighting to protect our nation, not to kill. do not do any damage to their citizen unless necessary." he could hear his father's energetic speech once his horse galloped into the field filled with young and strong warriors.
everyone was in awe; a handsome prince with swords on his sides and a black beauty as his horse, everyone would bow and show their admiration.
"my people, this is my beloved prince; Kyuhyun." he raised his right hand, and spoke.
"i will be the one who lead you into the battle of death, and i won't guarantee your safety." everyone was silent. nobody predicted any life would be spared when they knew who they would be fighting with.
kyuhyun cleared his throat, and put his right arm onto his chest. "but i can guarantee, that if i ever survived this battle together with you, i shall be a king who would never forget about his people, just like my father in the future."
a cheer, a cheer that was so innocent, that believed in what he just said roared among the crowd, and finally they projected an invisible energy into the king and the prince's heart. he glanced at his father, and smiled.
"we are going to win this, father."
-
"Sungmin, never swayed in front of an enemy."
his father grinned, and patted his shoulder. sungmin sighed.
he didn't want to kill, but his father made him to.
and his body was skilled enough to do things that he hated the most.
"do we really need to fight?" he asked, and his father snorted.
"we have to fight even before we were born, son. don't ask such a trivial question."
and they marched into the battlefield.
-
when he swung the sword against the neck of an enemy's soldier-
he was reminded of the hasty kiss on his lips that night
-and he felt like he would do anything just to make sure he would be able to survive and find the mystery guy.
when he saw his sword penetrated through the bones of the enemies-
he was thinking of ways to tell the prince that he was the one who was fighting with him
-and that made him furious of his own destiny,
he just wanted to love someone; why was it a big deal?
-
destiny brought them face to face only a few days after the war begins.
sungmin was right in front of his eyes, face covered in blood and black stains from the fire around the battlefield. his sword was ended a few inches from his neck.
“you?”
"yeah, me." kyuhyun said, and slowly drew his sword from its case.
"why? after that kiss..." kyuhyun closed his eyes for a brief second, and lifted the sword pointing to sungmin's adam's apple.
"that kiss was because i love you."
sungmin wanted to put down his sword, but kyuhyun grabbed the end of it, and with his bleeding hand, he put the sword back to his own neck. sungmin's face was indescribable.
"...but this war is for our countries." and started to move his sword against sungmin, attacking the one person he loved the most. sungmin didn't know why, but his heart was screaming of denials; no don't so this, don't do this!!-
but it was his body and mind that were put on defense. so he fought, and fought, and fought with tears in his eyes. droplets of clear water rained from his cheeks, and kyuhyun's heart was beating fast that it hurt.
it was when he blinked, that kyuhyun moved forward, and strike the sword into his left chest-
he blinked, and droplets of tear fell, and kyuhyun wanted to wipe it away
-and he drove his sword into kyuhyun's left chest.
-
the sky was red; and sungmin didn't feel like he wanted to know if it was because of the dusk that was closing down its curtain, or of the blood that men spilled because of the powers they fought. he didn't want to know, or to understand. all that he knew was; there was a sword inside his beating heart and through his backbones.
“hey.”
someone called his from his side, and he saw the servant boy; now dressed in a prince outfit who was prepared for battle, smiling at him with an expression that if he was mistaken as a love.
"hey." he replied, and with all the energy that's left, he pulled out the sword from the prince's chest, as the prince did to his. they both growled in pain; horrible pains and took a deep breath.
"i don't want to survive." sungmin said; his hands were cupping the opponent's prince, and chuckled.
"me too." the prince took his hands, and pulled them to his bleeding lips, and kissed them. gently and lovingly, as if he was too precious to be hold.
sungmin dragged his body slowly to be nearer the prince. every time he breathed, blood gushed out from the wound that he had. and he saw the same thing happened to the prince in front of him.
"i've been... so curious about you since the first time you entered my dining hall."
the prince snorted, and replied, "that's because i'm naturally attractive."
sungmin giggled, and the prince pulled his face close. "if only we were born in a different world, at a different time..." their noses collided, and their lips brushed. sungmin nodded, and closed the distance in between.
his lips that were warm when they were in the castle were slowly freezing, and so did his. there were bruises and tastes of the metallic crimson all over the tongue when he deepened his kiss. and they stopped when the prince pulled away.
sungmin was smiling, but he wasn't responding to his touches anymore. kyuhyun's eyes were more than crying; they were bleeding tears. but then, just a few moments before his view slipped away, he saw someone hovering his body, covering him with shadow.
"kyuhyun? kyuhyun... kyuhyun????"
his body was violently shaken, and there was sungmin, crying next to him with his nose red and messy bed hair.
"sungmin? what happened? weren't you--" but sungmin slumped over his tall body and made him lying down on the bed again. his lips was chastily kissed-
there was a hinge of crimson taste
-and sungmin was crying just like the way he did when his pet bunny ran away. "i thought i've lost you... stupid! idiot! you really are going to die if i'm not around, aren't you??" sniffed, and rubbed kyuhyun's forehead. "now the stupid scar from the fall is going to stay on your hideous face. next time you're going to go all night gaming, tell me! or you'd tripped down the stairs like this morning, too..." -
there was a flash of a battle field, and a warm hand around his neck, and a pair of lips that started to freeze on his, and a gentle voice whispering, "then let's be lovers in that different world, and that different time, and love each other like there's no tomorrow for us..."
-sungmin wanted to continue his nagging, and kyuhyun wanted him to stop. so gently, he pulled sungmin in his arms, and kissed him as long as he could even though the latter was struggling, and finally won when sungmin replied his kisses.
"sungmin, i had a sad dream, but it's beautiful."
"did you knock your head again? should we go for a check?"
kyuhyun smiled, and ruffled the latter's hair. "sungmin, we really loved each other, aren't we?" sungmin grunted, and pulled him out of the bed.
"what do you mean, 'loved'? use present tenses! it's love!! it's not like we ever met in previous life, not that we would remember it if we did anyway."
oh but kyuhyun did; of the battlefield, and the fighting fathers, and the beloved kingdoms and people in it. kyuhyun did, because he knew the two princes who fell in love with each other very well.
