I Want You To Marry Me | KyuMin | Romance, fluff, angst | PG-13
Because they want to have each other.
*
Five years ago, it was that pair of eyes who made you to come and spoke to him. And it was the same pair of eyes that greets you today, giving you a congratulatory speech.
“You look great in tux, Kyu,” he said, and patted your shoulders. His face was calm, as calm as usual. You smiled, and pinched his cheeks till they got red, as you usually did in the mornings, and you saw he turned his face away.
“You don’t have to pretend to be so calm just for me,” you said, and at that instant, you saw tears in his eyes. And you did nothing about it, because you know, your eyes were having the same situation.
-
“Hey, I want a ring,” he said, and it shocked you. He never has been this demanding before. You asked him why, and he giggled as he snuggled in deeper into your chest. He didn’t answer your question, yet he specified his request before.
“I don’t want a simple ring. I want a platinum ring. And I want you to have the same design as mine.” You cupped his face with your big hands, and kissed his forehead. Because you know, it was a wedding ring that he was asking for.
“I’ll try to get one soon,” you promised him, “...and we’ll fly to France to get married there.” You can see his face beaming, and you just couldn’t help yourself but to fall more in love with that face.
-
It was the first time he requested you something for himself, and even it was done with such an ego that you have never seen before, for some reason, it made you smiled all day. Maybe he was aware the fact that you are not someone who easily let anyone knows about your feelings, which he was fed up by your reluctance to propose him that he proposed to you first in his own way.
You were browsing the jewellery stores around the mall, and found the rings that he wanted. “I don’t want any stones on it, enough with just the ring.” You asked him why, and for no reasons, he blushed.
“I’m a guy! It’s not like I’m beautiful to have such a ring with diamond on it!” and you saw him palming his own cheeks, embarrassed by his own thoughts. And you just happened to wander how someone could not fall in love with this kind of guy?
To you, he is the most beautiful guy you have ever seen. His smooth skins, his big shining eyes that shrinks whenever he smile, his long fingers that gave you loving touch whenever you feel down, his blushing cheeks that never cools down whenever you’re around.
It is just impossible for you to say that he isn’t a beauty.
So you bought the rings, and was about to leave, when you received a call from hospital. It was your father.
-
The white roses were blended with the crimson red ones, giving a wonderful decoration inside the old church that looked historical enough to your eyes. It was the same church that he showed you a few weeks earlier, before everything happened and destroyed your dreams.
“I want us to get married in this church. It doesn’t matter if nobody wants to come to our wedding, I just need you to be there and exchange the rings with me,” he said and hugged your arm dearly. You can still remember how you patted his head after that, and kissed his warm lips that always taste like strawberry milk.
“Kyuhyun.” A call from Shindong woke you up, and the chubby guy patted your shoulders. “Nervous much?” he asked, and you smiled weakly. Maybe it was because he saw the traces of your tears before that he asked again.
“Are you really sure to do this? Even though you and he will be hurt forever?” you never expected him to know about you and Sungmin. You never told him anything, but you guessed that probably it was because Shindong is a good observer that he was able to figure that out.
“I’m doing this for my dad’s sake. I love Sungmin, yes I do, I really do. But only this won’t do. If our family can’t accept him, then to be married to me will hurt him more.” And you spilled your tears once again in front of Shindong.
“Have you ever asked him what he feels about this?” Shindong asked you again. You shook your head, and finally wiped your tears away. “No, because I know, no matter how hard we try to face all these, in the end he will be the one who’ll hurt the most.”
So you told Shindong not to be worried, and finally walked out of the preparation room to get ready to walk down the aisle. With someone whom you only know two weeks ago.
-
“I wouldn’t mind to let you go,” he said, holding his tears so hard that you could see his long smooth neck was stiffened. You always knew that would be his answer to your question. Sungmin never was the man who thinks only for himself.
“In fact, I’ll come to your wedding.” You put your head down, and covered your eyes, didn’t want him to see the tears that were brimming. He hugged you and kissed the tears away. “This is your father’s wish we’re talking about, right? For you to take care of the company, and to save it, you have to marry her, right? And we’re talking about the workers who will lose their jobs if you don’t do it.”
Yes, he never thought of anything for himself, that is your Sungmin. You pulled him into your embrace, and kissed his face all over. And when his lips met yours, you just didn’t want to let those wet lips go.
But sooner or later, that would be the only option for you.
“I will always love you, Lee Sungmin.”
“Same here, Cho Kyuhyun.”
-
And so here you are, with the pretty girl that your father wants you to have as a wife. Poor her, she’ll never get the chance to be loved dearly by me, you thought. The sounds of the wedding anthem filled the huge space inside the church, and you could see people’s delighted faces everywhere.
When the girl was standing with you in front of the altar, face to face, the common recital of marriage were read by the priest, and you just couldn’t help but to think how you would react if it was Sungmin in front of you right now. You must be excited to finish this ceremony early enough so that you can spend the rest hours of the day having him in your arms.
You still wait for the wedding vows to come, when you turned to your left and saw the small man that you love was smiling weakly, looking at you with his sincere eyes. The eyes that filled with sadness and disappointment. How you would love to wipe away all those feelings from his eyes and hug him once again.
“Go to him,” you heard someone whispered to you.
“I know it’s him that you want, so go to him,” and you finally realised that it was your bride who was telling you to do that. You looked at her in disbelief.
“I don’t want this marriage. It’ll hurt me if I’m not the one that you love. I heard everything that you said with Shindong oppa just now, and I realised that I’m the problem.” She stopped when the priest pretended to clear his throat, telling her to shut.
But her eyes were giving you the signs to let go of her hands, and find Sungmin. You took a glance at Sungmin who looked disturbed with the bride and groom’s behaviour, and a glance back at the bride.
“I’ll cover for you later, so just go now.”
She smiled, and so did you.
-
“Do you, Kyuhyun Cho, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?” the priest looked at your smiling face, and stared. You and your bride were so excited to see what will happen that you guys were giggling in front of the audience. Everyone was confused when you answered;
“No, I don’t. And I don’t think she’ll answer it with a ‘yes’ later,” and you pulled the bride, gave her a peck on the cheek, thanked her, and ran towards Sungmin who seemed to be so blurred about everything at the moment.
But when you finally pulled his hand, make him to run together with you outside the church, and asked him;
“Lee Sungmin, will you marry me? Because I have prepared the wedding rings, and I am about to book the tickets to France right now, and I don’t have the intention to cancel them. So, what would you say?”
he just knew that you were doing the right thing.
“I do!”
-
The black envelope was stamped with a Korean signature, that made you and Sungmin wondered what was inside it.
‘Hey homos!! I’m getting married with the coolest guy that I had ever met in my life, and yes he is cooler than you, Cho Kyuhyun! So come home a week before the date below, and don’t worry about what the family said about you guys, because we had settle everything. So come and celebrate my wedding, okay?
-Na Ri.
p/s: Sungmin-shii, I would love to taste you pumpkin pudding. ^^v
“Pumpkin pudding? You’ve been exchanging letters with her without me knowing about it?” and Sungmin’s giggles made you realised that you were being jealous.
“She just loves it, what should I do? By the way, aren’t you curious about who is her cool guy?” and you almost screamed
when he showed you a picture of Shindong with Kyuhyun’s used-to-be-future-bride.
“Aw, I’m just sooooooo glad that you decided to run away with me,” he said, kissing your lips. And yes, the strawberry scent was still there.
“Why?” you asked, and he hugged your waist tighter, as if he never wants to let you go.
“Because I was thinking of kidnapping you from the wedding earlier.”
