Hey, I got a question for you. Are there any chiggers up by me (Gurneeish area)? A bit more specifically "up near the WI border, somewhat east of Galena". Someone on one of the MFU lists I'm on asked for a suggestion for a phrase and chiggers won. She then asked if there were any in IL, and after having read your one journal entry I said yes, and mentioned the general area of where I am. She then asked me offlist if there were any by me, or more specifcally that quote.
*grin* what an apropriate comment on a "Got Blood?" entry ;-)
Chiggers can be found most anywhere. They are usually located in brush cover, especailly border brush and trees. As to wether your local area is infected, if you really really wanted to find out, you could walk around barefoot in some tall grass. ;-) But your liable to pick up some other unpleasent invertabrates as well. If little red welts develop and burow slightly into your skin... then your area has chiggers.
