After receiving Commodore Otrona's reprimand and punishment for striking a prisoner, Martha headed straight for the bar and hopped onto the nearest stool.

"Something alcoholic," she pleaded. "Anything alcoholic."

It wasn't that James particularly enjoyed Martha's desperation--though it was true it was satisfying to hear her ask for something other than apple juice.

"That's a dangerous request," he said, even as his hands moved. Apple juice. With a slight smirk, he set down a tall glass of reddish liquid. "Scarlet Pimpernel. It'll appeal to your love of justice," he said. "And apple juice."

And he'd mixed it a little strong.

"My love for justice took a beating," Martha grumbled, and took a swig.

Whoa.

Then she took another, heartier gulp. There was no point in being half-hearted about one's plans to get totally shitfaced, after all.

Martha swallowed again, this time actually taking a moment to savour the taste. "This is nice. What's in it?"
