My seester is growing my Meyer Lemon in her living room for me dakiwiboid January 26 2012, 22:04:13 UTC
since she has fantastic southern exposure. It's been loaded with blossom since the beginning of January and even has mini-fruits. I consulted with the Answer Doc at the Garden about it, and he says to expect most of the little fruits to drop off, but not to worry if the branches bend down under the weight of such fruits as do set.

It may just be a matter of lighting (as Noel Coward said about sex). I also use a good citrus food every four months, and emailed sis a reminder to do it in January as scheduled. I couldn't afford a big expensive Meyer Lemon last year, so I bought a $9 one, and carefully repotted it three times as it grew.

The Answer Doc said I apparently did all the right things, including keeping it out on my fire escape in the southern sun all spring, summer and fall and not overwatering it. If you can find a spot with better light in your house, I wouldn't give up on the citrus just yet.
