Possible fannish auction blather

Yeah, I'm posting on LJ again. But until more of you move over to DW *dangles invite codes inticingly*, I have to if I want to reach anyone.

So, I've been hemming and hawing for awhile, on twitter, over the idea of running a fannish charity auction for The Jim Collins Foundation:

VERY interested in helping you with this. We can have a bake sale and possibly a handmade craft sale, too. I can ask some friends to donate stuff they made, and I can make stuff to sell as well.

We should see about getting posters printed, unless we want to emphasize the handmade theme? First option is a wee pricey, and second one takes a lot of time.

Can we get a BH club to sponsor this, dya think? *plots*

The problems I see with getting BH to sponser it anyway is, if it's fannish, um...well, fanworks and their *handwavy* legality, you know? I was picturing it being run something like help_haiti (only more advance planning, obvs). But it's something I'll def. keep in mind! Thanks for replying!

Not to mention, it's hard enough as it is to get BH to even sponsor a club, apparently, we still have to set things up for the anime club.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking (I am not holding out much hope for the GSA doing much of anything for various reasons)

I will totally offer items and promote the hell out of it.

I'm not sure November is a great time, because NaNo has lots of people, and lots of fic writers really busy, but it doesn't impact me one way or another, as I'd not be offering fic.

If you need a mod to help babysit it, I totally would, but in a "team of many people" way, because if it's just you and me, I don't have that type of bandwith. If it's you and me and like 3 others, then it's cool.
