I know that mindless idle feeling all too well. It's like those hours in which we practice to get in the time and get nothing out of it. The mind set of "I must practice" regardless of whether it does us any good or not.

Interesting. The thing with music is that you eventually you reach a point where progress becomes harder to attain because you are at such a high level. That is where you are at, progress comes with hours and hours and hours and hours of playing and even at that you won't notice it. Music is a very internal personal thing, making it a lot harder to measure the progress of. Life is even harder to measure. Anyways, take it easy jared, I look forward to playing with you. I took a jazz improv class this semester and learned a whole new thinking.
....No surprise to anyone, I might switch into music after this semester. Later dude.

man, i really enjoyed this post. it's weird. i really was feelin this whole thing pretty hard right about when i read it. me and my friend were talking about flying to Jamaica and working at a bar. but really, i was just walking outside listening to some Terrence Blanchard, and I totally was just happy to be alive to breathe cold air, listen. i really wish more people could see stuff the way you do, or if they do, i wish they would vocalize it now and again. it really makes me feel even happier to be here on earth.
