I was in the subway station on 86th steeet yesterday right after this happened. Now that I know what all the confusion was really about, I find it odd that the MTA announcements explanined it as being "...due to a passenger illness on 77th street."

Weird. I was on the train once minutes after a guy killed himself bt jumping in front of the train at the next Metro stop up from us. I always wonder how the driver felt when he saw the guy jump and couldn't stop in time.

Perhaps MTA meant "ill" as in the mental sense, or perhaps the guy was just sadistic and meant "ill" as in the Beastie Boys sense.
