Manchester or Thames Valley seem the most promising from where I am standing, but I guess it really depends where you want to be and what you want to do. Surely its best to try for PCSO first as becoming a full officer cant be too easy?

As it stands, I think countrywide the assessment for PCSO is being made closer to that of a Police Officer. It may have just been the Met changing it though, not sure.

I'm tempted to apply for any open posts wherever I can, Thames Valley would mean I'm closer to more people I know and Manchester would mean it wouldn't be too hard to get to people I know.

It's really just a case of what is actually available and when.

Thames Valley seems like a good option, the area is really nice!

Sorry to hear about you failing your interview...

Was kinda expecting to struggle with the race and diversity bit, espcially with the D on the application. Should have listened and made something up :p

Meh, I'll take whatever I can get atm. The Met would have been nice but I've got nothing against Thames Valley, can always transfer later on if I want.

yup PS.com member since late last year, declared myself as bi on my Met CSO application, don't think Merseyside's Specials one asked at all.
My Met one fell flat probably due to lack of prep for the race and diversity bit, I didn't have any examples to use at all, but I could have made one up if I'd taken the time to make it airtight.

No. You're Hampshire Constabulary, even if B'stoke is close to Thames Valley region.

Well, if you're a constable rather than a PCSO.
