The dicky LCD panel on the VFR can be caused by any number of things, dodgy battery (a little bit expensive), dodgy rectifier \ regulator (mildly expensive), or the PCB behind the clocks (not very expensive, but you have to dismantle all the body work foward of the footpegs).
