“Jun-kun, I’ll be fine, really,” replied Nino, trying his best not to look feverish, “And thanks for this,” he added, gesturing to the medicine in his hand.
Jun looked like he was about to protest, but the arrival of the other three members made him close his mouth almost immediately after opening it. Nodding in agreement, Jun headed over to greet the other members, leaving Nino behind to feel sick to the stomach.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Nino didn’t know how he did it, but he managed to make it through the photo shoot. The world seems to be testing him that day, for the crazy photographer made them do all sorts of weird shots, like one of Aiba sitting on Jun’s lap looking as though he was giving the younger idol a lap dance, one of Ohno doing a handstand with bits of his shirt falling downwards, and one of him being pressed so closed to Sho they looked like they were Siamese twins joined from the chest down to their stomach.
Trying to get as far away as possible from the bright lights of the set, Nino ran out of the studio the moment the photographer said they were done. But before he could go very far, he started coughing non-stop, forcing Nino to stop running. Hands against a wall, Nino tried to stop himself from coughing, but whatever he tried, the coughs just wouldn’t stop.
“Here,” said a voice as a cup of water appeared in his face. Without looking to see who offered him the water, Nino took it and gulped down the contents as fast as he could to relieve his itching throat.
“Thanks,” he mumbled at last, “Sho…” he added when he saw who the person was.
“If you’re not feeling well, you should go home,” advised Sho, although he sounded as if he didn’t want to hear ‘no’ as an answer.
“I’m fine, Sho-chan,” replied Nino, “Really,”
“If I can feel your burning skin through 2 layers of clothing, you’re definitely not fine,” Sho countered.
Nino kept quite, unsure of what to say to make Arashi’s mother-hen stop nagging.
“Nino, you know I care a lot about you,” said Sho, his motherliness-switch turning on, “You don’t want to fall ill especially when we have concerts coming up,”
“Sho-chan, I’m fine,”
“No you’re not,”
“Sho-cha-”
Before Nino could finish what he wanted to say, his coughs returned, making Nino feel as if he was going to cough his lungs out. He heard Sho sigh, and the next thing he knew, he was on Sho’s back as the older idol carried him towards the car park. Belting Nino into the passenger seat, Sho slid into the driver seat and started driving towards his house.
“Don’t you have Zero to film for?” asked Nino.
“Is Zero more important than you?”
Nino blushed. The car ride made Nino drowsy but as he was about to fall asleep, Sho had already pulled up at his apartment. Seeing the sleepy look on Nino’s face, Sho went over and carried Nino all the way up to his flat despite the strange look from his neighbors.
As he gently laid Nino under his blankets, Sho was about to go fetch a towel when the smaller man grabbed his hand, Nino mumbled weakly, “Stay?”
Sho nodded and climbed into bed with Nino.
“Thanks, Sho-chan,”
“You know I’ll always look after you, right?”
“Always?”
“Always,”
“Cheesy,”
“I thought you want a cheesy lover,”
“No, I just want you,”
