Another boring entry about my everyday life

Dec 10, 2008 22:23

This afternoon, Mum headed back to Queensland, so I have the place to myself again. It feels a bit too quiet after the last week. At least cooking dinner tonight didn't feel too tedious; Mum did all the cooking while she was here, and I was frankly in no condition to do any for some of the time, so returning to it after that break didn't seem ( Read more... )

Occasional light pain and nausea has been developing over the last few days

Well, I hope that goes away soon.

And I totally agree with you when it comes to "bells and whistles" on websites. Just that you put it better than I could. :-)

Fortunately, things have been improving quite considerably today, so hopefully this will continue.

Also, thank you very much for the Christmas present - rest assured, it will go to good use. :)

I'm glad to hear everything is improving, and I certainly hope it continues to do so.

You're welcome! (Sorry I didn't do more...)

Ugh. Bells and whistles.

Biggest reason I don't like to use Photobucket anymore, admittedly.
I had to stop using last.fm altogether when I still had dial up because it became too overblown with shit, shit and more shit that I just didn't feel like waiting an eternity on to show people what the hell I am listening to. I have since, started using it again, but all the new crap on it is just hideous. And as a former dial up user, I deeply feel for anyone who still uses dial up and can't access a lot of sites anymore because of crap like that.

By the way, we went to a holiday gift shop yesterday and they had little miniature trains sitting on this shelf in the middle of the store. I thought of you. :)

Photofuckit has completely lost me. It's nauseating. I hate how all these sites I discovered around 2002-04 have all just gone to the dogs and become laden down by every bell and whistle you can poke a stick at. Photobucket, LJ, last.fm, you name it. I am glad RateYourMusic hasn't gone that way yet, and by virtue of my permanent account on LJ, I can keep my own blog nice and clean. Though I think the site that perhaps sins the most when it comes to bells and whistles (heh lame pun there) is ChristianForums.com. CretinForums, as I often think of it. It is HIDEOUS. And not just for its vapid posters and inane banter. The plethora of features are enough to send anybody insane.

Also, I figured out what U2 song the start of Harmony Korine sounds like. Go play Spanish Eyes. The first 25 seconds of Spanish Eyes and the first 40 seconds of Harmony Korine bear similarities.

I discovered Photobucket in 2005 sometime or another. It wasn't that bad then, but it just keeps changing and changing. Every time I get used to it, it fucking changes again and makes me want to puke. Now you have to hover over your damn picture just for the links to appear. I haven't been active on the internet as long, but it always does please me to see simple sites without all that crap added to it that just slow it down and make it overall sickening to even look at.

D'oh! I just listened to Spanish Eyes and I don't even have to hear Harmony Korine (though as I type, I've started listening to it. Can't help it. It is made of SuperWin.) to know what you mean! When you mentioned it yesterday, I thought, "Well now that he points out it, it does ..." but I couldn't think of which one. And now I know why. I'm not too keen on Spanish Eyes, so it doesn't get played by me very much. There's one SW mystery solved!
