I'm still here. I often think of writing entries but engaging topics seem to have deserted me. It doesn't help that I haven't had much motivation to write anything these days. Certainly not my university essays or Honours thesis! At least U2gigs.com articles have still been happening for me, and a bit of fiction too

U2.com blows and I am kinda glad that I really have no reason to deal with them.
Glad things are falling into place for the show you'll be attending!

WHAT???
I was under the impression the pre-sale began the 6th and the regular sale began the 18th. I've been waiting until the 18th to try buying my tickets, since I am a member of U2.com but not a paid member, so therefore ineligible for the presale.
OR SO I THOUGHT.
Now I am all worried. And annoyed.

Tampa went on general sale last Monday the 6th, I'm afraid. The presale ran 31 March to 2 April. Judging by the date I posted my article on U2gigs, U2.com changed the listed sale date from the 18th to the 6th sometime on the 1st of April, which means the incorrect date was up for at least two days.
I don't think Tampa has entirely sold out yet, but GAs shot out the door. If nothing else, you can probably find tickets to buy on Interference.
The only sale on the 18th is Las Vegas - which U2.com couldn't actually be bothered telling us about until, oh, a few days ago (at the same time as a Live Nation press release incorrectly claimed it was going on sale on the 11th; heaven forbid these people actually communicate and keep their information consistent).

There are also people fretting about whether or not they'll get new codes for the next leg - I'm guessing we will, and while I realize that it's pretty early for them to announce tour dates for next year, they could at least say yes or no that they'll give us new codes with renewal next year.
I said "fuck it" and am certainly not going to bother saving any codes for next year. A, I'm pretty sure we'll get new ones, and B, life is too short to spend so much time worrying about it. If there aren't new codes, I'll get tickets through the general sale - it worked fine for me with Vertigo.

I would go... but it'll be hard to find someone to go with. :/
