Back on the reading rainbow

This year has been jam packed so far. When I was in law school and even when I was studying for the bar, I managed to read a pretty significant amount for my own pleasure. It has slowed down a bit recently, but I'm trying to get back into it. I've been taking a book to work to read during lunch on the days I don't do yoga. I read 100 pages the ( Read more... )

I have a reading list on RRR because I have a goal to "read 10,000 pages of science, economics, health, history, or policy books." Including the progress on the in progress books, I am at about 4,900 pages. So I obviously under estimated. It'll just give me a new target for next year.

well, some of the books i am reading through email, and i've done one and a half audiobooks too. i'm counting those, even though i listened instead of read. i'm at 11 books for the year, which isn't too bad i guess.

I agree. Its a good amount. My goal for last year was 25 books. That would put you at close to the same target. Most people who comment on how much I read indicate they read maybe a book a year.

Counting by pages was designed to keep me from using smaller books as a criteria in my selection. :)

i do tend to read shorter novels sometimes. not every book can be a 500 page masterpiece.

i keep track of what books i read on lj, but i keep the post private and then post it at the end of the year as a list of books i read.

i noticed from your list that you read a good amount of nonfiction. i have to spread those out. i prefer fiction, but some nonfiction intrigues me from time to time.
