Video Game ranting
I don't know, maybe it's me, and maybe it's because I'm so horribly obsessed with DMC right now...
Female fans are starting to piss me off.
And I'm not talking about fangirls, I'm talking about the actual good fans. This goes for any game I guess I should say. Hell any fandom more like it.
How this little rant of mine came to be was from reading yaoi fiction, rape fiction pretty much, between Dante, his brother and some demon. Since there really is no room for yaoi in the fandom, it's nice to see something different for a change. I'm not even going to name names on who wrote it, since it's pretty much downright rude to point the finger and say "OMG U SUX." It's an artistic representation I understand that.
The thing that pisses me off is what the story is about. It's rape. Rape = being powerless to stop something.
That and a badass like D should not even be in the same room. The game was made for him to be an unstoppable force, not something that is weak and easily broken. It just doesn't happen that way. This story, for one, is set after the first game when Trish is still very much alive, meaning that he isn't alone, not anywhere near it.'
I guess that's what happens when yaoi fangirls get ahold of a game/anime with no other male to pair the other up with. Let's some how have the girl magically die out of no where and pair them up with _____ Hey, I'm guilty as charged for doing something like that. Hell, I made a freakin fancharacter specifically for that. (actually not really, I just thought one day what that would look like and it stuck ^^; )
The fact still remains though, most of the scribble stories are for fun and something that never happened. (meaning I'm fanpairing on a fanfiction.... Wow that made alot of sense)
Anyway, I got off on something completely different than what this rant was for. My biggest peeve for all of the DMC yaoi that's out there... The majority of it is rape. I know yaoi is something made by FANS, but the whole point of making the game was to amke a character that nothing can stop, not even other full-blooded demons.
It's frustrating. I'll be so happy when dmc3 comes out and VergilxDante will run rampant and hopefullyu kill of most of the rape fanfics.
Rape is bad people. Why get pleasure out of someone's torture? Regardless of the fact that you choose a character that just does not fit with the whole rape scene. This goes right back to that whole fetish talk I had with Kei. Maybe I should let the damn thing go and just realize already what it is.
Whatever... I think this will be the last time I read DMC yaoi fanfics, it pisses me off far too much. I'll just stay in my own little dmc world that doesn't exsist where Dante is such a fucking pansy and acting like he should me.
For once, use canon people. Don't destroy such a cool character by making him such a wimp.
