"I want a baby."
Four people choked on their dinner.
"Um, wow." Jonghyun stammered, uncomfortable with the topic of infants. Minho recovered his breath, and was getting second servings, seemingly already forgetting about the bombshell. Taemin looked blank, and Jinki stared at his dinner.
"Jinki." Jinki jumped at the sharp call of his name, and nervously looked up.
"Y-Yes, Kibummie?"
Key, the reigning diva of the household, was pouting in earnest. That was never a good sign.
"Jinki. Are you listening to me?" Oh, his voice was getting higher now, which meant he was getting annoyed. Jinki quickly stroked the younger boy's arm in a weak attempt to soothe.
"Of course I'm listening. You said you want a b-ba-ba--" Jinki cleared his throat. "Baby," he finally managed. Key nodded, smiling happily.
"Are we going to get one?"
"Why do you want one?" Jonghyun suddenly burst out. He quickly regretted it when Key turned that malevolent glare on him. Nobody questioned Key about anything, but unfortunately Jonghyun was more scared at the thought of having a baby in the dorm than having to eat splinters for the rest of his life.
"Yeah, Kibum-umma, why?" Taemin asked, then suddenly pouted. "What about meee?" Key sighed, stroking the maknae's head gently.
"I'm just--It's just that my biological clock is ticking--"
"You're not even twenty!" Jonghyun was the unfortunate receiving end of Key's rice bowl.
"As I was saying," Key smiled sweetly at Jinki, while Minho helped Jonghyun back on his chair. "Jinki, baby, sweetheart, darling..." Key ignored the gagging noises at the back from Taemin and Minho, "Are we getting one?"
"No, please no," Jonghyun hissed from Jinki's left. Key was wearing that deadly pout on his right.
Jinki sighed, and decided the safest response to be, "I'll think about it, Kibummie. Okay?"
"Yes, that means no," Jinki was tempted to smack Jonghyun for constantly putting his foot in his mouth, but Key beat him to it, this time throwing the kimchi pot.
------------------------------------------------------------
"We're getting one, right, Jinki?" Jinki sighed; he was tired and sleepy, and this had been the 25th time Key had asked, but he managed a weak smile, kissing the younger boy's forehead.
"We'll see. Go to sleep, Kibum." Key pouted, but yawned as well.
Snuggling closer to the older boy, Key drifted off to sleep and dreamt of chubby infants and pink cradles.
------------------------------------------------------------
"What is it?"
"...I think it's a baby, Taemin-ah."
"I know what it is, but how did it get there?"
Minho didn't bother reminding the maknae of his first question, and simply stared at the thing in front of them. The two younger boys simply stood there, dumbfounded, as footsteps sounded behind them.
"Hey guys, have you woken them up--oh my god!"
Jonghyun's high-pitched screech effectively jolted Jinki awake.
He blinked sleepily, rubbing at his eyes. When his vision cleared, he blinked in confusion at the stunned boys in front of him.
"Uh, guys...?" Jonghyun was flat on his ass on the floor, Minho looked blank, and Taemin simply pointed.
Jinki followed the direction of the finger, and met small brown eyes.
Small, brown eyes that belonged to a chubby, drooling baby.
------------------------------------------------------------
"KIBUM!! KIBUM!!"
"Jonghyun, there's no use shouting, he's not in the house--"
"I-I-I'll try calling his phone--"
Jonghyun speed-dialed Key's number with a desperation to match a drowning man's, frantically holding it to his ear. They all looked up as Key's Abracadabra ringtone rang from the bedroom. Taemin jumped up, and came back a few seconds later, holding the ringing phone with a frown.
"It was on umma's bed."
"Maybe he went out? Forgot his phone? Picked up some milk from the store??"
"Okay, just calm down Jjong," Jinki advised, and Minho gently pushed the hyperventilating Jonghyun down the sofa.
Jonghyun stared at the chubby infant in Jinki's arms, turning a little green. The baby returned the stare, an eyebrow seemingly raised. Everyone kept their distance from the foreign object as if it was a ticking time bomb. The baby seemed uninterested at the attention, diligently sucking on its thumb.
"Wait a minute." Taemin suddenly jumped from the sofa, bending in front of Jinki and analyzing the infant intently. The baby stared back for a minute, before quickly losing interest, going back to sucking on his thumb.
"Aha!" Taemin suddenly exclaimed, making everyone jump. "That pout! Those eyebrows! That look!" Taemin suddenly pinched the baby's cheeks. "This baby is definitely Kibum-umma!"
The baby responded to the unwelcome touch by emitting a displeased roar and punching Taemin's face with a pudgy fist.
------------------------------------------------------------
"This can't be happening. This can't be happening. This can't be happening. This can't be--"
"Jjong, shut up for two seconds please. Minho-ah, can you phone manager-hyung? Taemin, please stop moping on the corner."
Jinki sighed in despair. The whole household was in chaos, they haven't even had any breakfast, and Key, their Almighty Key, seemed to be a baby.
It wasn't even 10 in the morning.
"Why doesn't he like me?" Taemin sniffed pathetically from his corner. His umma had rejected him straight-out, and even now seemed to be glaring at him from Jinki's arms.
Just then, the door opened, and their two managers came rushing in, stopping short at the sight. One manager seemed to be at a loss for words, gaping at the infant, and the other manager looked around frantically before settling on Jinki.
"Jinki, what have I told you about bringing things to the dorm?" Before Jinki could respond, the manager was already walking around the room. "Where's Kibum?"
The four boys exchanged looks, before Jinki helpfully held the baby up. "R-Right here, hyung."
------------------------------------------------------------
"This can't be happening. This can't be happening. This can't be happening. This can't be--"
"You, shut up," one of their manager-hyungs snapped at the other. He turned to Jinki, heaving a deep sigh. "Jinki, what have you boys done this time?"
"W-We didn't do anything! We woke up and Kibum, or at least we think it's Kibum, was like this!" Manager-hyung took pity on the poor, agitated boy, and moved to take Key.
He had barely managed to lift him when Key let out an outraged wail. The manager quickly let go, and 'Key' quickly clung to Jinki. glaring at the man who dared to touch him.
"Well, he seems to like you."
"He doesn't like anybody but Jinki-hyung," Taemin commented, then turned to their manager. "Hyung, what do we do?"
The manager looked grim. "There's only one thing we can do."
------------------------------------------------------------
"Oh! How adorable!"
"That kid looks remarkably like Kibum. Where is he, anyway?"
Jinki sighed; this was the last thing he wanted to do, but they didn't seem to have much choice. He managed a weak smile to the cooing girls in front of him. "Hi, Taeyeon and Sunny."
"He's what?" The two girls burst into peals of laughter at the news, and Jinki resisted the urge to ask what exactly made the situation so hilarous.
"Oh, this is priceless, absolutely priceless. Well, either way, let's get to work." Sunny moved to take Key from his arms, and baby Key went willingly enough to his surprise, cooperating with Sunny's motherly fussing with no complaint. The diaper change went normal, along with the feeding. Jinki was happy enough to have someone else handle the baby, still wishing this was all a bad dream and he'd wake up to a normal Kibum.
Baby Key was fed, changed, and satisfied, contentedly back in his place in Jinki's arms. Jinki bowed gratefully to the two girls, heaving a deep sigh.
"Thanks a lot, you two, I really appreciate the help." Taeyeon waved a hand.
"It's completely fine, Jinki, just give us a visit if you need anything." Sunny nodded back, and absently patted Jinki's shoulder, and since Jinki looked so glum, pinched his cheek playfully. Baby Key watched this whole exchange with narrowed eyes.
"Don't look so sad--ouch!"
Key repaid his noonas' kindess by throwing the pacifier at Sunny.
------------------------------------------------------------
"You want me to what?"
"Help me bathe a baby. Please, hyung? I'm slightly desperate here." Leeteuk scratched his head in confusion; first, the request was odd even from someone like Jinki, and second, where did he get a baby and why?
"I haven't got a clue on how, Jinki-ah. But I'll bring Sungmin along if you like?"
"Yes, that would be great. Wait, Kibum, don't--" Jinki suddenly hung up, and Leeteuk scratched his head again, puzzled.
Leeteuk and Sungmin arrived at the SHINee dorm ten minutes later, opening the door to a screaming Jonghyun with what seemed to be a baby perched on his shoulders and pulling on his hair. The normally sparkling clean dorm looked like somebody just dropped a nuclear bomb and messed up the place.
"Uh...hi?" Jinki popped his head from the kitchen, and smiled in relief.
"Hyung...!" Jinki stumbled over to them, tripping on the shoes by the doorstep and nearly falling on his face had Sungmin not caught him in time. "You have to help me, hyung!"
"Okay, calm down." Leeteuk led to Jinki back to the kitchen, skirting over the screaming Jonghyun and moping Taemin on the corner. Minho was in the kitchen, reading a book about babies.
"What the hell is going on in here?" Sungmin demanded. "Where's Kibum? Why is there a baby in the house?" Jinki didn't even have the strength to answer, and Minho helpfully filled the hyungs in.
"He's what?" Contrary to their noonas' reaction to the news, their Super Junior hyungs looked shocked and terrified. Jinki sensed an ally, and clung tightly to Leeteuk. Sungmin, on the other hand, had already gone to retrieve the baby and came back with a squirming Key in his arms.
"Why didn't you ask for help from the girls?" Sungmin was more than capable of handling children, and skillfully undressed Key amidst his angry wails. Jinki worriedly looked on, wringing his hands. Leeteuk just watched, keeping his distance from the baby as if it were a ticking time bomb.
"Well, Kibum kind of made Sunny angry so now they won't help me," Jink answered truthfully. Leeteuk perked up at this.
"Angry? How?"
"Let's just say Kibum is as prone to jealousy ever since he was a baby." Leeteuk cringed.
"Okay, done." Sungmin wrapped a pouting Key into a towel, ignoring the baby's outraged cries. As he dressed Key, Sungmin asked if they had a feeding bottle, which Jinki helpfully passed to him. "We might as well feed him now."
Baby Key obviously didn't like Sungmin's handling, but Sungmin wasn't an easy opponent, holding him firmly in place as he tried to squirm during the feeding. He fell to sucking on the milk, the whole time glaring up at the hyung and planning his revenge.
The bottle was soon empty, and Sungmin perched the baby on his shoulder, patting his back. Jinki bowed at his hyungs, once again thanking them for their help.
"It's no problem at all," Sungmin began, still patting Key's back. "In fact, Kibum wasn't too bad--oh, God." Sungmin closed his eyes as the vomit slid slimily down his back.
Key got his revenge after all.
------------------------------------------------------------
It was finally night time, and Jinki arranged the pillows around his bed so Key wouldn't fall off if he happened to roll around in his sleep. Key blinked up at him, and for the first time that day, smiled toothlessly and touched a small hand on Jinki's cheek.
Jinki smiled tiredly, tapping Key's tiny nose. "You've been called the demon baby, you know." Key seemed unaffected. "Sunny and Sungmin both hate you." Key started sucking on his thumb, a sign that he was bored. Jinki chuckled, and tiredly lay down the bed, his eyes drifting shut.
"I wish you'd change back soon..."
Jinki jolted awake the next morning at Key's ear-splitting shriek.
He jumped from the bed, stumbling over a few times from the grogginess, but managed to make it to the living room where Key - adult Key! - stood frozen. He pitched forward, the others with him as they tackled Key to the ground.
"Kibum, you're back--"
"Oh my God! Kibum!"
"UMMA!"
Even Minho was extremely relieved at seeing Key back to his original form. So overwhelmed were they by happiness that they didn't notice Key's confusion.
"...What the hell?" Jinki looked up.
"Don't you remember?"
"Remember what?"
"You turned into a baby, Kibum."
Taemin bounced up. "Yeah, umma! We even had to call Sunny-noona and you threw the pacifier at her and then Sungmin-hyung and Leeteuk-hyung came as well but you vomited on Sungmin-hyung so now everyone are kind of annoyed with you and Jonghyunnie was really scared of you and--"
Key held up a hand. "Okay, I get it." The four boys watched as Key surveyed the mess around him. His sparkling clean household, an utter mess.
He kept his back to them as he asked, "So you're saying, I turned into a baby for a day, and this is why the house is so messy...?"
Jinki blinked. He recognized that tone, and that tone was not good. The other three - bless their poor, ignorant souls - were not so lucky.
"Exactly!" Jonghyun chirped out. Key finally turned to them, and Jinki quickly walked away.
"...Nice try." Jinki closed the door to Jonghyun's shriek of terror.

Lulz Epilogue
Key thinks he may have turned into a baby after all, and they weren't just bullshitting him. Everyone else seemed to know about it after all, and Sunny-noona had glared at him when he passed by her on the hallways, and Sungmin-hyung ignored him when he had greeted him.
Key now feels slightly guilty for punishing his household members like he did, but what was done was done - what's important was the dorm was clean, right?
The household was now back to normal, and the boys were happily eating dinner cooked by adult Key. Taemin suddenly set his chopsticks down with a pout.
"I want a puppy."
Jonghyun choked on his dinner, Jinki quickly shook his head, Minho looked up absently, and Key quirked a brow. Taemin turned imploringly at him.
"Umma, can we get one?" Key was sure there wasn't a rule that prohibited pets in the dorms, but the problem was...
"Well, Taemin..." Jonghyun was terrified of dogs, big or small, and Jinki was allergic to anything with fur. But aish, Taemin was wearing that high-powered pout and Key felt weak. "We'll think about it, Taeminnie. Eat your dinner." Taemin nodded happily, and that evening, dreamt of bouncing puppies.
The following morning, the household awoke to a series of barks.
Jonghyun screamed loud enough to bring the house down.
Jinki sneezed like hell.
Minho heaved a deep sigh.
Key stared at the dog on Taemin's bed with growing dread.
"Oh, shit."
