Summary: Polar opposites attract in the strangest of ways.
He had always known they were polar opposites. And polar opposites don't attract.
He'd known they were polar opposites since the day they first met, the first time he'd stumbled into Kibum's life and damaged Kibum's top beyond repair with his scalding hot coffee.
He'd been so busy ogling like an idiot, watching the graceful movements of the other boy as Kibum sipped his tea and spoke to someone on his phone, that he'd somehow managed to trip himself and all hell broke out.
Clumsy meets graceful - you couldn't possibly get any more opposite than that.
---------------------------------------
He still knew they were polar opposites when he first asked Kibum out. He'd wanted to be cool, wanted to be manly like Kibum had absently admitted was his ideal guy, or even a romantic guy, since everyone liked a romantic guy, right?
It wasn't to be, though, and his confession was so tactless he cringed in embarrassment just remembering it.
This is it, Jinki, he told himself as they stopped just outside Kibum's apartment.
He had his lines ready and rehearsed, having spent hours the previous night trying to portray his feelings with just enough sweetness but not overly so. It went something like, since I first met you, I noticed your beauty, I couldn't stop my heartbeat, and now my heart beats for you. Will you go out with me?
Kibum turned to face him with a sweet smile, and Jinki's brain went completely haywire.
"I--you're really pretty--go out with me please?"
Judging by the volume of Kibum's laugh, Jinki knew his sleepless night had gone to the pits.
"That was the best confession ever, though," Kibum had commented one lazy afternoon, hugging Jinki from behind and pressing a soft kiss on Jinki's cheek. Then he started to giggle from the memory, but Jinki didn't mind.
After all, he'd said yes.
---------------------------------------
Even after years of being together, Jinki still knew they were polar opposites.
"Jinki, wake up."
Jinki groaned loudly, sleepily wondering if he groaned loud enough it would drive the younger boy away. Of course, it never did.
Kibum had moved to tugging the covers off him, and he held the covers with all the strength he had, the two boys having a violent tug-of-war in the early hours of the morning.
"'Bummie I'm still sleepy..." Maybe aegyo would work, Jinki thought. He heard Kibum's exasperated sigh.
"Jinki, darling, it's 8am, it's time to get up."
This is exactly why they were polar opposites. Jinki was not a morning person, if left to wake up on his own he would wake up at noon. Kibum woke up at the ungodly hour of six every morning, however, and changed Jinki's mornings forever.
"Five more minutes," Jinki pleaded. He really didn't want to get up, didn't know why he had to get up so early in the first place.
There was silence for a few moments, before he felt the covers slowly being tugged off. Before he could panic, Kibum's hand stroked his bangs away from his forehead and pressed a soft kiss on it.
"Arasso, I understand." The bed creaked, and Jinki heard footsteps fading off. Kibum let him go back to sleep? Today must be a special day.
Beneath the happiness, however, was the underlying feeling of dread. But Jinki brushed it off, happily snuggling deeper into his dark cocoon of blankets and was just about to close his eyes when--
The covers were violently tugged off and the sunlight nearly fried his retinas. The curtains were parted, the sunlight bathing the room in its golden glory.
Jinki reacted. He screamed like a little girl.
"My eyes--" He should've known Kibum would attempt something like this.
"Aish, you're such a big baby." Kibum rolled his eyes and climbed on top of him, grabbed one of the pillows, and shielded his face with it for temporary relief. Jinki, however, gave the younger boy his best glare.
"Kibum, why are you so mean to me?" His glare faltered when the younger boy began to giggle. "Yah, don't laugh--"
Kibum bent and pressed his lips to his, molding their lips together in a tender kiss. By the time he pulled away, Jinki lost his will to fight.
"It's our 1000th day today, Jinki." Kibum caressed his hair gently. "That's two years and two-hundred and seventy days of me putting up with your clumsiness."
"And that's two years and two-hundred and seventy days of me putting up with your violent affection."
Kibum laughed, and this time his kiss was shy.
"Let's look forward to the next thousand days, hmm?"
Jinki cupped the younger boy's cheeks, and slowly, pressed their foreheads together. Indeed, they were polar opposites, and Jinki would probably have to endure bad mornings and violent wake-ups for the rest of his days.
"We'll look forward to the next five thousand days. Saranghae."
But he wouldn't have it any other way.

Lolz this is so short, but I wanted to write OnKey fluff D: I actually got the idea because Taemin mentioned in a show they were on (300, I think?) that Jinki liked to sleep with the covers over his head, and Jinki said he liked sleeping in complete darkness. xD So adorable~~~ Anyway, lol.
