The load times and skits were my biggest peeves thruout the game. The non-voiced skits being #1 because:
A) I LOVE the voice acting in this game and would have loved to hear more of it.
B) As you said, the text moves EXCRUCIATINGLY slow.
and
C) Sometimes the text stops over light stuff in the BG so I cant read a bloody thing thats being said. They probably could have made the text a little bigger too, my eyes sometimes had a hard time seeing it X_X

It's just a matter of America being cheap to their fans again. They were voiced in the JP version, we just dont get the same bang for our $50 or whatever you spent on it.
Urgh.
After a while of playing the game I could hear the characters in my head when I was reading their lines at least, thats always a sign of good voice acting to me.

You might have better luck with more grass chambers - I may have stolen stuff a couple times through the entire game but I didn't equip any until really late XD

Regarding Mystic Artes - use an Arcane Arte during overlimit, and then, while your character is performing the Arte, press... square, I think it is. I abused it for Luke all the time XD

The maid costume really IS the best costume for Tear, IMO. X

some of them are extremely amusing but then some of them are just like "LET'S GO TO _NEXT PLOT LOCATION" "YES LETS! "YES, LET US DO THAT" "I AGREE" so id say its kind of overkill... do you just ignore it when 'select' comes up tho??? somehow i cannot ignore it...

Late so you might have already figured the grass chambers out :x but lemme try explaining...

After you equip a grass chamber to an arte, you need to use it a certain number of times to activate a certain percentage chance for steal. If you've use that arte (with the grass chamber on) 20 times or less, you have only up to 20% chance of triggering Steal any time you use the arte.

20-40 times: 21-40%
40-60 times: 41-60%
60-80 times: 61-80%
80-100 times: 81-99%
>100 times: 100%

If I had to pick something annoying about the game to bitch about, it would be said artificial travel constraints. Blah for navigation, why couldn't they learn something from final fantasy :x

oh yeah, and for Mystic Arte it differs slightly between characters; for spellcasters Jade and Tear, just cast a High level spell. For the rest, do an Arcane arte and hold X down through the end of the arte (if you get the timing right you can just tap X, too) after which the Mystic Arte will trigger; alternately you can also trigger the Mystic Arte by holding X down after an FOF-change arte.

With Guy, it can look something like this: Severing Wind > (FOF-change Void Tempest into) Dragon Tempest (hold X after it triggers) > Razing Phoenix.

The game's a bit buggy sometimes and in certain battles, I couldn't trigger Mystic Artes on the player-controlled character (usually either Guy or Jade) at all, so don't be too frustrated if it happens.

This is for the basic Mystic Artes on your first playthrough; the second playthrough's MA's have even more complicated requirements XD;;
