the time traveler's wife: i really liked the concept and plot (an unconventional love story between an unwilling time traveler and the love of his life) but found much of the writing- especially the dialogue- schlocky and contrived. rather a disappointment, as it made me not care so much for the characters- and inevitable tragedy that followed.

just finished 'the shoe queen' by anna davis---which should/could be read for the descriptions of shoes alone!! but the descriptions of 1920s bohemian paris are lovely too.
hmm. i have read one million books lately (mostly when i was waiting for my foot to heal) but now i have forgotten most of them. oh! guilty pleasure read: the fitzwilliam darcy, gentleman series by pamela aidan. i've read a couple of darcy-centric stories, but these books are actually interesting in their own right.
i am entertained by most of jodi piccoult's and anita shreve's books.
this is why i wish i kept a better log of what i read.

One reason why i loved it was that it was the first book that made me cry. It starts off a bit fluffy but gets all emo-y near the end. *Scratches head* I'm not really good at summaries, so i grabbed the this. http://www.readinggroupguides.com/guides3/sams_letters_jennifer1.asp
