i have 194 unread emails on my blackberry

life has been busy

i think i'm going to buy a cintiq 21ux instead of going on vacation this year as wacom's doing a $500 rebate on it this month. any of you have one of these and can weigh in on its worth? GOD I WILL BE SO BROKE. but it will force me to draw more outside of work.

I look at Ebay for prices on these monitors. They should give a clue how much they're worth.

I don't have a Cintiq but I do have a tablet monitor and god does it feel great to draw on the screen. It really depends though if you manage well with a normal tablet anyway (In my case, I was using an intros and I'd have to repeat myself getting the right strokes) There's only two negatives when it comes to working with Monitor tablets other than the price.

1) because the screen is right in front of me, I have to move my keyboard side since I'm Dependant on shortcuts (although the cintiq has buttons on the side anyway). I suggest buying a wireless keyboard too if you're going to need your shortcuts while drawing.

2) I have to keep constantly adjusting my monitor when I'm switching to draw or browse on the internet. (You can draw vertical, but after a while, it tires my hands)

thanks for your input, it helps! yah one of the reasons i want a cintiq is im constantly hitting ctrl-z bc i have to repeat myself to get the right strokes and i think it really cuts down my productivity x_x;
does the cintiq work as an external monitor? bc im just going to hook it up to my imac, and only do drawing on the cintiq, and everything else on the computer~

my friend that's had one since it first was released (she's a game concept artist) said "it's amazing how much better my linework is on it" so i take it as very much worth it~~
