Comments: Written for Week 1 at aliceinfiction.
It was a warm summer night. The air was mostly still, only interrupted by a slight breeze every so often. In the city everything was busy, the night life vibrant and lively all throughout Tokyo. But in the mountainous regions outside of the city, everything was calm. Crickets were chirping and the stars were easily visible without the glare of the city lights.
At the top of one of the mountains two men sat under a large peach tree, using the trunk as a backrest. There was a small amount of peaches piled in between the two men, courtesy of the smaller of the two men, who had climbed the tree and picked some of the peaches that were growing off of the many branches.
At first glance both men appeared to be asleep under the comfort of the stars. Both were breathing slowly and had their eyes closed as they leaned against the tree. Then suddenly the taller of the two reached out and grabbed the peach that was closet to him, looking at it for a second before taking a bite. He made a hum of satisfaction as the sweet taste filled his mouth.
“Is it ripe?” the smaller one asked. “It was kind of hard to see which ones I was getting, since it’s dark...”
“It’s perfect, Hiroto-kun,” the taller replied smiling at the shorter man, Hiroto.
Hiroto smiled and looked down at the pile of peaches, selecting the largest one and then taking a bite out of it. His eyes widened as he chewed the sweet fruit, “Oh my god, this is the best peach I have ever tasted!” And he proceeded to take another large bite, much to the amusement of his companion.
“I told you that the best ones grew up here,” the tall one replied.
“You were so right, Shou-kun!” Hiroto exclaimed, smiling up at the other.
Shou smiled back and took another small bite out of his peach, savoring the taste of the sweet fruit. Whereas Hiroto quickly finished his off and started on another. Neither man talked as they ate, both content with just being near each other and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere that surrounded them. As Shou finally finished the peach he had been eating he looked over at Hiroto, who was staring avidly at the starry sky, a half-eaten peach still resting in his hand.
Shou laughed lightly, causing the other to look at him questioningly.
“You’re such a messy eater, Pon,” Shou said, causing Hiroto to look even more confused.
Shou moved his arm so that he was pointing at the side of Hiroto’s face. “You have peach juice all over the side of your mouth.”
Hiroto reached up to wipe off the side of his mouth, but Shou caught his hand before it could reach the aforementioned spot.
“Let me clean it off for you,” Shou said as an explanation, leaning toward the other.
Shou lightly licked at the side of Hiroto’s face, lapping the juice off like a kitten drinking it’s milk. Shou worked his way up from Hiroto’s chin, to his lips, and suddenly the two were locked in a deep, tender kiss; witnessed only by the numerous peaches and stars.
