I don't actually ship this pairing but... I really like the way you wrote this! For quite a short fic, you still managed to capture the essence that is Germany and even Japan (eventhough I think Germany stands out a lot here, perhaps due to it being told mostly from his POV).

It's very poetic in a not-too-overdone way and I like that!

And I really, really love this line: "Japan is soft-spoken, with a hundred thousand ways to say no..."

That speaks volumes of Japan's character with the least amount of words needed and I'm just wow...

Thank you for your thoughtful comments. I'm glad I could get you intrigued by the story despite the pairing. I don't necessarily "ship" Germany/Japan either, but I think they have an interesting dynamic to play off of.

As you can probably guess by the fact I made part of that line the fic's title, I was a bit fond of it as well. :)
