Chapter 7: Horror

“Thank you for defending me earlier, it really meant a lot to me,” Daiki bowed meekly to his friend, who was wearing a surprisingly surprised expression on his face.

“It’s nothing,” Kei smiled back warmly. “I trust you, so I just acted upon that trust. You’re my friend, Daiki. It was only right for me to help you.”

Daiki sighed. “But I guess that means everyone else hates me now,” He frowned.

“No one could ever hate you,” Kei laughed lightly.

Daiki could only smile gratefully up at his friend once more.

“Thank you, Kei.”

“Kei!” Kota yelled after his friend who had just disappeared into the BEST dressing room after practice. “Why did you defend that jerk, Daiki?!” he demanded as soon as the two of them were alone.

“Well, then why did you attack him?!” Kei retorted.

“You saw as clearly as I did that he purposely pushed Yuya!” Kota fumed.

“No, no I didn’t! And I don’t understand why you won’t let this go!” Kei argued angrily.

“Because I care about Yuya, and I’m mad that one of our own went out of his way to hurt him!” Kota persisted.

“Then go take it up with Daiki!” Kei shouted back. “The fact that you’re arguing with me over this just shows how you still can’t get over the fact that I DON’T LOVE YOU ANYMORE, so you’re just angry that I’m showing concern for Daiki over you!”

“That has absolutely nothing to do with this!” Kota slammed a nearby locker door shut. “The fact that you’re bringing up our relationship COMPLETELY out of context just shows that YOU can’t get over the past, even though you constantly deny it!” he shouted, infuriated by Kei’s accusation.

“What!?” Kei yelled in disbelief. “Can you even hear yourself speak?! Y-You’re wrong about me, can’t you understand!?” Kei hopelessly tried to reason. “I-I…w-we… you just… just LEAVE!!” Kei screamed, pushing Kota out and crashing the door shut after him.

“Daiki?” Chinen’s voice piped up.

“Hey, Chinen,” Daiki smiled as he turned and saw his little friend walking toward him.

“Did you really push Yuya by accident?” Chinen asked quietly, yet his tone was so direct, so frank, that his words could be taken in nothing other than complete seriousness.

Noting this, Daiki laughed, with a tinge of nervousness. “Of course. I wouldn’t have ever wanted to actually hurt him. You believe me, don’t you, Chinen?” Daiki asked hopefully.

“I-I’m not sure what to believe…” Chinen admitted sadly. “Kota and the others seemed so sure that you had pushed him on purpose…”

“Oh, come on, Chinen,” Daiki whined playfully, trying to lighten the mood. “This is me we’re talking about. Didn’t you say you cared about me? Didn’t you say you liked me?”

“That’s true… but-”

“Then why don’t you like me now?” Daiki smirked, suddenly taking on his on-stage image, making Chinen shirk back in fright.

“I do! It’s just that-”

Daiki didn’t wait for Chinen to reply. Instead, without wiping the malevolent smirk off his face, he backed Chinen up into a corner of the elevator and started to lean in for what could not be mistaken for anything other than a forced kiss… or worse.

“Stop! Get away!” Chinen cried, pushing Daiki off. “This isn’t how I wanted this to happen, Daiki… Y-You’re scaring me!” Chinen cowered in fear.

“But you admit that you do want this to happen?” Daiki smiled smugly, malice glinting from his eyes.

“I-I mean, I d-did, but-”

That was all Daiki needed before he pounced onto Chinen. Losing control over his own greedy desires, Daiki tore aggressively at Chinen’s shirt, and the little boy shrieked as the fabric ripped and revealed his pale, trembling body. Daiki began furiously suckling at his jaw line with his lips, while Chinen fought back viciously, kicking and screaming to no avail.

Right then, the elevator doors opened and while Daiki was distracted for a mere split second, Chinen scrambled out of the elevator, running for his life, running straight into Kei Inoo.

“Help me! Please!” Chinen screamed, hiding behind his savior of a friend.

“Help you?” Kei asked, gaping in horror at Chinen’s miserable state. “What’s going on?!”

“Daiki’s h-hurting me!” Chinen stammered, not knowing how to exactly phrase his crisis.

Daiki ran up to them and tried to defend himself. “I didn’t do anything! Chinen said he wanted it!” he protested.

“Please, Kei, I’m so scared!” Chinen whimpered, tears rolling down his cheeks. “H-He was about to force me into d-doing these b-bad things with him, when I was c-completely unwilling to!”

Kei’s eyes widened upon understanding what Daiki had done. Putting his arms out defensively to protect Chinen, Kei shouted. “What’s wrong with you, Daiki!?”

“Kei! What’s wrong with you?!” Daiki yelled back. “What happened to the whole ‘I’m your friend’ speech?! The one where you said that you TRUSTED me?!”

“T-That was before you tried hurting TWO people in one day! And just look at what you’ve done to Chinen! You OBVIOUSLY did something wrong!” Kei insisted. Trying to calm himself down before their raging emotions got out of hand, Kei spoke as evenly as he could manage. “Why would you even think to do such things, Daiki? It’s not like you.”

“H-He broke his promise,” Chinen sniffled between sobs.
