Things that make me very angry (and should make you angry too)

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD SIT UP AND PAY ATTENTION.

It has come to my attention that there is now legislation being drafted from the Health and Human Services branch of government that will severely restrict access to birth control, the morning-after pill, and sterilization procedures.  This document, currently under draft, is designed to cater to health ( Read more... )

...but shit, shit, and doubleshit! Teh Stoopid, it burrrrns!

By that crap logic, deciding to not have sex constitutes abortion! Masturbation must be mass murder!

I had a vasectomy nearly 15 years ago: that's at least 15 children who have been denied existence because of me. Oh noes, the horror. 8-0

Frankly, it won't surprise me a bit if this idiotic legislation gets passed.

Firstly, let me say that I am proud that you are taking the time to read legislation that involves you and others, and that you are choosing to express an opinion and get involved. Too often I see people who bitch about stuff and do nothing about it.

People who are ultra hard left or right make me sick and are disturbing. There is no end to how they want to control your life, be it government or religion. In the end, it's the facet of control that matters most to them.

I am certainly biased negatively towards abortion myself (note I said biased, not against). To me it is often (though not in all cases) the refuge of people who make stupid and irresponsible decisions with their life rather than be responsible and to be accountable for their actions.

But at the same time, I'll be damned that the government will decide issues of health for me or those that I hold dear in my life.

You know what bothers me the most about this flavor of insanity? The math.

Most fertilized eggs never implant in the uterine wall, through simple nature.
Of those that do, roughly 30% end in miscarriage, often so early on that the woman never even knows she's pregnant.

Though it varies by source, most folks seem to agree that a minimum of 60% of fertilized eggs do not result in pregnancy that lasts more than 3 months.
Now, if this counts as the 'death' of a 'person', shouldn't vasectomies and ovulation-suppressing birth control be mandatory to prevent this tragedy?

Statistically speaking, if a crazy right-winger has 2 kids, then by their own definition they committed 'murder' 3 times in the process.

Hell, between Sarah Palin's 5 kids and her daughter's pregnancy, roughly 9 of these 'murders' were committed.

Oh, and you want to talk about crazy laws? My state tried to pass a law making it a felony to tell your pregnant girlfriend that you won't stay with her or support the baby, because then you're coercing her into aborting.WTF

Sarah Palin scares me something fierce, and she is ALL for this kind of legislation. I wasn't planning on voting for Obama, I hate all the canidates and was planning on casting my vote for Cthlulu (why vote for the lesser of two evils?), but I will vote for Obama just to keep her out of office.
