Note: I'm not cutting this, because it doesn't have any significant spoilers in it. That said, if you've yet to watch the season finale of Bones and don't want to risk coloring your opinions, you should maybe not read on. That said, on to the post

ITA with everything you say. Pelant = preposterous and stupid. Hug = perfection and even though I've always been on the fence about them going there with the marriage thing, I loved Brennan's beef jerky proposal too.
This is the first season where I feel as though I missed a couple of episodes - as even though I watched them I did it while preoccupied with something else and may as well not have done *sad face*
And yet, like you, I shall return.
What are we to do with ourselves, indeed?
PS. Don't tar Iron Man with that brush, their bad guys are way less ridiculous (and that's saying something) ;)

I'm picturing it a little like that delightful moment with Indiana Jones and the knife twirling bad guy... except with Pelant being all look at me I'm so omniscient and amaaaazing and Tony being all, 'Meh, talk to the hand.'
And you'll love it! We saw it last weekend!

I finally gave up on watching live halfway through this season because the weekly dose of annoyance I got from it was beginning to affect my love for the characters themselves, and I didn't want that to happen. I decided to cherry pick instead - now that the season is over, I'm going to go back and watch only those moments which people whose judgement I trust told me are worth watching. *puts finale hug on the list*

Epps was probably their best bad guy, I'd agree, though even some of his stuff tipped the scales toward the improbable side.
I finally gave up on watching live halfway through this season because the weekly dose of annoyance I got from it was beginning to affect my love for the characters themselves, and I didn't want that to happen. I didn't watch any of this season live, and like you, there are several episodes that I still haven't seen. For the episodes I did watch, it was usually with a vague sense of dread. I went in wanting and hoping to see certain things but sensing that I probably wouldn't get to see them and that what I might see instead would likely disappoint. My family started asking me why I even bothered, and I didn't have a good answer. How do you explain that you're searching for some sign, some hint, that the characters you fell in love with are still in there somewhere ( ... )

He has to go.
Amen, Sister, Amen!
I'm late in responding, in part because I was late in viewing the episode. I dreaded yet another Pelant episode.
Fortunately or unfortunately, the characters are still in there somewhere. They don't get let out often, but whether by accident or design, just enough to keep some of us on the line, still hoping for more. Very frustrating, but I can't go cold turkey on the possibility of what I might miss. More's the pity.
Glad you came up for air. Hope your chaos will dial back to a dull roar soon.
Cheers,
TK

The characters are still in there. Every time I start to think they aren't, we get a glimpse of them, and there I am, begging for table scraps.
Apparently I can't go cold turkey, either. Oh well. Guess we'll just have to suffer through what's left of this thing together, huh?
