Catchup time!

Alright. Time to stop being a procrastinating lazy-bones and update this thing, since it's been almost two months since I last updated.

So the last time I posted, I was on my way down to K.Falls. That... was somewhat productive but I'm not going to do it again anytime soon. c_c
I did manage to light a fire under the asses of my parents though, together Dad and I fixed the giant hole in the floor of the pumphouse that had to be cut out when the pump died, and got most of the drywall on the walls/ceiling of the second floor installed, and Mom and I completed the tiled entryway. My parents tell me that after I came home, they finished the entire ceiling of the 2nd floor, and beyond that I dunno. Mom's back in school so Dad's productivity is limited to the times when she's not trying to do coursework. She complains too much if he tries do to construction when she's studying, something about being "unable to think for all that racket!" ^-^

Patrick came down to pick me up, as planned, and of course, his luck worked out so that he came down with some kind of horrible head cold the day he came down, which was only made worse by the construction-mess that is that house, so he was miserably ill the whole time we were there, as well as being in super-politico-mode since this was pretty much the first time he'd spent any amount of time with my parents in, well, pretty much since we got married. Not much of a vacation for him, but we made due. He took lots of naps, which is his favorite thing to do on vacation, and we traipsed around in the wilderness a bunch, getting lost and then finding our way back to the house. While it is beautiful down there, I really was happier than I've ever been, to see the bridges of Portland from the train on our way home. Southern Oregon is FAR too arid for my liking.

We're still having no luck on the pregnancy front, this month is the 7th month of trying with no luck yet, if we're still unsuccessful THIS month I'll be starting Clomid next cycle.

At the beginning of this month I went to the beach with some "friends" and had the singularly worst "vacation" I've ever had, which resulted in me finding out the true colors of those "friends" of mine, and Patrick having to drive 4 hours round-trip on a work night to come rescue me, because after already extending the trip by two days beyond what I was under the impression of how long it was going to last, they refused to take me home or even set a day to GO home. So much for them, they're now collectively known as "The Bitches" and I don't expect I'll ever hear from them again.
While at this point I'm ok with things being that way, it was rather painful to be faced with the prospect of losing the friendship of two women I've known for over a year.

Got word the other day that firesplace has finished the Harry Potter-style scarf she's been knitting for me, and it's apparently on its way to me right now! VERY VERY excited about this, for several reasons: A) It's a scarf. I <3 scarves in cold weather, they keep me warm and cozy! B) It's a handmade specially for me scarf! I've NEVER had one of those! and C) It's a piece of literary-geekiness for my WARDROBE. How awesome is that?!?!

In Early June I dyed my hair a totally wacky color: Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink! I had to bleach my hair for about two hours before it was light enough to take the color well, but it turned out fantabulous. I posted pics of it to my Facebook page when I did it, and I'm sure that eventually I'll get 'em onto my Flickr page eventually. I try to keep my Facebook and LiveJournal pages from directly linking between one another for Google's sake, but if you'd like to friend me on Facebook please just ask and I'll link ya!

Sometime this week I'm planning on dying my hair again, because although I bleached/dyed my Pink! hair on June 10th, I've already got about an inch of dark roots that have grown out. Planning on dark brown, pretty much a color-match with my roots, with a bunch of very-light-blonde highlights that have been dyed Manic Panic Purple Haze!

Also on the agenda for the rest of this week are another batch of my nomtastic Cherry-chocolate Ganache-covered chocolate mini cupcakes, which will also end up with a couple dozen (of the roughly seven dozen the recipe yields) being "spiked" with Strawberry Pucker mixed into the jelly filling, which will be taken to a fun get-together at a friend's house this Saturday.

I'm also taking Trouble to the Vet on Friday, he's got a stress-spot on his right side that he's had on-and-off for the last 4 years or so, where he licks himself until he bleeds, that he's been refusing to leave alone long enough to let it heal, despite my best efforts with several different tonics for it. So it's off to the Dr for him, to make sure that there's nothing genuinely wrong with that spot, and to hopefully get him some medicine that will help it heal once and for all.

And on that note... I should get to bed. Tomorrow's going to be a busy day!~
