Very true. But this could all end up being a sham - she could just have her boyfriend (or girlfriend or whatever) put in a bid, then declare that the highest bid wasn't the winner and "sell" her virginity to her boyfriend/girlfriend/shill.

This isn't to say that she set out to make this a scam, but she could certainly realize all this and decide to do this at the last minute.

In principle, I hate the idea of virginity being some sort of 'gift' from a woman to a man, that there's something 'to lose' by having sex, as opposed to something to share.
It's a sick throwback to women being property, IMO.

But if she really can feel empowered by using the whole virginity thing to her advantage, then good for her, I guess.
