Actually, Michael's just might carry them; I've seen some stores start to carry more sock yarns and needles. I wouldn't get my hopes up too much, though. :/

May I also recommend Knit Picks for all your needley needs? They are quite reasonably priced, and have purty needles.

KnitPicks is pretty cool. I know they are reasonable but I think I have to stop spending the moneys for now. :/

Michael's often carries the Susan Bates Sock Set, which is 4 sets of 5 dpns in sizes 000, 00, 0 and 1 -- for about ten bucks. They're my go-to needles in that size range because the price can't be beat!

There are surprisingly few Joann's in Los Angeles. I'll see if I can find one nearby.
