Ok, first a bit of info. My favorite band ever played together for about 10 years, and then finally split in December of 2005. They've since splintered off into different groups, solo projects, etc, all of which are awesome. They're relatively unknown, but have a massive following anyway. So so sad that they never hit it big. So I'll begin with the original band.

Artist: Jump, Little Children
Upload Link/File Type: Because of You- mp3. Over at Box.net. No one song really is a good example of their overall style. However, as awesome as their CDs are, you don't know their music 'til you've heard it live and in person. ::shivers:: It's AMAZING. That's my biggest heartbreak regarding their breakup; not being able to go to any more live shows. "Because of You" is ever so sexy, soulful, and southern. This particular version was recorded live at their final concert. I'm one of those cheering women in the crowd. XD
Similar Artists: Oh God, they really run the gamut in style. The do Irish/Celtic, they do Alt Rock, the do folk music, Indie, ( ... )

Artist: Jay Clifford- Former lead singer/composer/lead guitarist for Jump, Little Children
Upload Link/File Type: These are all mp3 links for Box.net

Don't Be Fooled
Sand to Glass
Waltzing Past the Grave This one is slow and looooong, but totally my favorite.

Similar Artists: I clearly don't listen to enough music to know. Umm Jump used to play with Guster a lot. Their upright bassist now plays with Howie Day. They were chums with Carbon Leaf? Still, that was Jump (::points up:: See above!). Jay, Jay sounds something like I imagine God might. *sigh* Though this are some of his more "rockish" songs. Hmm Better than Ezra perhaps? He's actually using their drummer for this album.
Random Facts/Etc: Jay's new album Driving Blind just came out, and I highly recommend purchasing it. You can get it from his MySpace

Ok, time for more splinter bands.

Artist: Cabaret KiKi
Upload Link/File Type: mp3 from Box.net
Shadow on the Wall- Cabaret KiKi

Shadow on the Wall is the only one I have uploaded, but I highly suggest checking out their MySpace. I'm not sure if you can get their CD there though. :-\ It's just a little 4 track album, and I think they only sell it at shows.
Similar Artists: Old style Cabaret shows?
Random Facts/Etc: Cabaret KiKi is made up of a large group of talented artists, two of which are former members of Jump, Little Children (Evan the drummer, and his brother Matt who played... god, everything.) "Seven Ways" is probably my favorite song of theirs, but they're all great. Cary Ann Hearst is the lead singer, and she's amazing. Her other works are more country-styled, but I recommend Checking out her MySpace as well.

Artist: Ward Williams
Upload Link/File Type: Just a link on this one! Here's Ward's MySpace
Similar Artists:
Random Facts/Etc: Ward was Jump's cellist and one of their guitarists. I wish I had some of the mp3s to upload, but of course when I imported his album here at work, I did it as m4as. XP Ward's vocals aren't maybe as strong as Jay's or Cary Ann's, but his songs are definitely catchy. :)

Plus, check out the front page of his website. Heehee. Oh, Ward.

The other day I was cooking and got a grease stain on my Ward Williams T-shirt. I am severely pissed off by this.

Annnd one last one.

Artist: Kristina Train (formerly Kristina Beaty)
Upload Link/File Type: Her MySpace
Similar Artists: Norah Jones
Random Facts/Etc: We shot her wedding a few months ago! XD That's how I heard about her. Her stuff is really nice! I don't think she has a CD out yet, but I love what I've heard on her MySpace.

THERE. ARE YOU HAPPY? NOW I EXPECT YOU TO LISTEN TO ALL OF THAT. XD
