Artist Spotlight Information & last.fm Recommendations

May 15, 2006 17:41

So, I've done the first Artist Spotlight! I think it's pretty self-explanitory, but under the cut I will lay out a simple little format to stick to for everyone else who would like to do one in the future.

Artist Spotlight Format
You can arrange this order however you'd like, but please make sure to keep all of these things included in your post.

  • one image of the band
  • official biography (or at least a paragraph of it, if it is long)
  • your own take on the band
  • what genre the band is
  • similar artists to the band
  • official links (be it website or myspace; if myspace, please make 100% sure it is official and not fan-run)
  • links to find out more information about said band

If you have a band you'd like to do an artist spotlight on (or even one you think should just be done in the first place), please leave a comment to this post with the band's name; be sure to state if you would like to do this band for a spotlight or not. On the other hand, if you'd like to do an artist spotlight, please leave a comment here with your name and email. I will be writing up a little more info for those who are interested in doing this once I get any/all names.

I think that's all, so I'd just like to leave a little reminder about our last.fm community.. Do be sure to check out the recommendations and leave your own. They can be of any genre you wish, but please try to make sure they're independent artists. You may rec songs as well! All songs recommended do not have to be by independent artists, but please try to keep it that way. You may rec a song from a major label artist if it conveys a message relating to AYL. I apologise if I am getting confusing here.. Anyway, don't be afraid to recommend anything there or to post it here! ;)
