Great vid! I think Booth lives with so much guilt that eats at him at times and I think he extends that guilt into the relationship he has with Bren. He is scared that he can't be what he needs to be for her imo. He is scared that his best won't be 'good enough' and that he'll come up short and that's one aspect that holds him back. Yeah, he's scared too that she'll eat his heart alive with a hearty burp but even moreso imo that he isn't and can never be enough to satisfy her on an emotional level. How much can he give and still be who he thinks he needs to be? This vid really highlights his inner struggles very well.

first of all: thank you for the amazing detailed and insightful comment! I agree completely - although I would separate his individual struggle with his past and his profession - which of course is reflected and coming to the surface by her perception of him - and his struggle with her and their relationship (loved your suggestion that "he's scared she'll eat his heart alive" since he is characterized as a man that had been rejected already by the mother of his child) My focus was more on his professional struggles, but since they are working so close together she participates in his demons as much as he paricipates in hers. And I tried to show that through their intense non-verbal communications. She is definitely challenging him in more than one way. And I love Boreanaz being able to show so much vulnerability. The scene with Stephen Fry in Girl in the Gator is his best performance so far - at least in my opinion.
