ladies and gentlemen, i don't do alarmism or conspiracy theories, but this is an absolute catastrophe - and it is obscene that it is even being discussed.

Would Obama, Dems Kill 401(k) Plans?House Democrats recently invited Teresa Ghilarducci, a professor at the New School of Social Research, to testify before a subcommittee on her idea to ( Read more... )

If you want to fight this, you need to hijack some of your opponent's methods. Start a protest, get the attention of news reporters, and then keep doing it. Over and over and over again. Then while your reputation is soaring, get an ad campaign. Make it sound like eliminating 401ks is what Hitler would've wanted. Televise it. If either of the candidates support it, show their face with a nazi insignia on it.

Remember, it's not wrong to manipulate people if you really are just telling the truth.

Well let me rephrase that then: It's not REALLY manipulating people if all you're doing is making sure people at least look at the tuth, and putting their beliefs into contradiction with their other beliefs. It's what we did during the old dark ages, and it will be necessary for defense of our very lives in the new dark ages.

Obviously by 'support it' I mean 'support eliminating 401ks'.

Oh yeah, and one more thing. You'll need me. I'm a member of an organization that approves of what you are doing. E-mail me at StarbladeEnkai@Excite.com to get more details.

your question is vague.

> for "capitalist" corporations?

this in particular. are you assuming i support u.s. policy in iraq?

also, the u.s. is no longer at war with saddam's government, which has become an empty set.

Just wondering, isn't everyone aware that if they put money into a 401K that they are gambling with it? Or am I the only one that saw this coming 8 years ago? I guess I just think people should blame thereselves. No one was ever forced to put their retirement money into the market.

please establish that putting money into a 401(k) is gambling.

this would require you to show that average aggregrate returns over time are a net loss. that will be hard for you to show considering that the multi-decade total return on large-cap companies, with wars and depressions and all, is 10-11% not adjusted for inflation, ~7% adjusted for inflation.

( and structural inflation exists due to govrnment corruption of money. )

i think you're jsst being emotive. wealth-building requires discipline and time. it helps to have a government that doesn't fuck up the economy, as obama plus a dem supermajority surely will.
