A Rose By Any Name: Kris's father was very adamant when it came to giving his first born son a strong name. His birth mother, however, had already had a name in mind and went behind his father's back to name him Li Jiaheng. For the first five years of his life, he was known as Jiaheng and it was a name that, in his mind, fit him perfectly. It wasn't until after the divorce that Kris's father got his chance to change his name from Li Jiaheng to Wu Fan. Later in his life, whenever they moved to Canada he was able to choose his English name. He chose Kevin Li as a way to spite his father and show favoritism towards his birth mother.
London, Tokyo, New York, Paris: Kris was never settled down in one place for long. His father had big dreams of expanding the empire his family had already set up. He was like a modern day Alexander when it came to the business world. Established companies, up and coming companies, it didn't matter. If his father had an interest in them then soon they were brought under the shadow of his fathers ambitions. Kris enjoyed the travels, seeing new sights and sounds, expanding his knowledge of everything and anything that seemed interesting. Though all things have two sides to them and because of the constant moving, Kris was never able to make and keep friends for more than a year at times. Because of this, he has a hard time creating bonds for the fear of having to sever them in a moment's notice. It's his need for human contact of some sort that leads him to go to such extreme means to get a friend. Specials favors, expensive gifts, and sometimes things he's too ashamed to admit even to his mother through emails. He hates having to be so desperate for a friend but there is little else he can do. At least that's what he's come to believe.
English, Do you speak it?: Because of the constant moving, his father's high expectations, and his own endless curiosity; Kris has a natural talent for learning languages. He is currently fluent in four, English, Korean, Cantonese, and Mandarin. His latest linguistic adventure is learning Japanese and he likes to find excuses to visit the country to further immerse himself in the rich culture and customs.
Ball so hard the High IQ Society wants me: Kris's intelligence has never been a question since his birth and it's because of this he has been among the top percentile of his classes since he first entered school. He has received invitations before to take a specialized IQ test to see if he can be placed among the intellectual elite but because of the constant moving and his own modesty, he has turned them all down. His father wants him to take the test but it just proves as another thing he can use to shove his disapproval and dislike for his father back into his face.
One for All, All for One: Kris is extremely loyal to those he considers his friends. It wasn't until his high school years that his father settled down in South Korea, and Kris was able to live as a semi-normal teenager. He would have preferred a public school setting but his father wouldn't have him mingling with the common "riff raff" so private school was the best he got. He surprised himself with being able to mingle with so many people and stay friends with them for as long as he did. The real reason is because Kris blinded himself from the bad things about people and only lets himself see the good. He doesn't want to ruin the image of people he has. He's been let down before in his life and is trying to cling to whatever pedestal he places these friends upon, yet it always comes crashing down upon him later on.
Leaders aren't born, They're made: From the moment he was born, Kris's father had been grooming him to become the next CEO. He has always known he had a great future ahead of himself but he had hoped to be able to choose it for himself. He is caring, in his own way, and looks out for his own the best he can. He will stand up for them, even if they may be in the wrong. It's this sense of leadership that has made it hard for him to back down from a challenge. He knows eyes are always on him and he must live up to everyone's expectations, including his own. No matter how much he doesn't want to admit it, he gets his ambitious nature from his father and will not settle for anything other than the best in himself and those around him. It's the classic trait among the males in his family and it's what's pushed them past their limits to build their business empire.
Not enough duct tape for this: Whenever his father and mother divorced, Kris felt his world was coming undone at the seams. His mother was given custody of his elder sister and his father took custody of Kris. He has never been able to see his mother or sister again and tries his hardest to find ways to stay in contact with them. His father remarried two or so years later to a woman that Kris hated with such unbridled emotions. He blamed her for his broken family, his broken heart, and has never shown her any sort of respect. From her, she gave his father another son and daughter and it felt like Kris slowly, but surely, became the black sheep of the family. It's only because he is his father's named heir that he is even still bothered with and Kris feels the same way. He gets along with his step siblings well enough but he will have nothing to do with the woman trying to replace his mother.
This is my happy face: Kris has never been one to show many emotions on his face. He's always been one to stand back and observe before stepping into the fray. Because of this, he tends to stare at people with what has been labeled his "bitch" face. He personally has never found anything wrong with it and will argue down that it is naturally how he looks. Many of his friends pick on him about it and try to make him smile more but it doesn't really work. He hasn't found many reasons to smile since his parents divorced and even then it never truly meets his eyes.
Took My Way to the Highway: Kris was recently kicked out of his private school because of a misunderstanding. His group of friends thought it would be a good idea to pick on one of the girls in their school. By pick on, he means to try and sexually abuse her. He had been texted with a time and a place withing their school, having nothing better to do that night than study. It wasn't odd for him to get these texts and thought it was just one of the impromptu parties they liked to hold. What he actually found made him sick to his stomach. He never expected his friends to do something as evil as that and it was because of his yelling the school security guard came and found the scene. They were all immediately expelled and with a little smooth talking from his father, the reason why was kept secret. Kris was truly just a victim of circumstance but there was little he could do about the situation except learn from it and move on. It's because of that one moment that he has taken much more care when it comes to picking his friends. He doesn't want to make the same mistake again and walk in on something that horrible and sick ever again.
Olympic Hopeful: Kris's father had been very stern on making sure his son was active in sports at his schools and, at first, Kris hated it. He hated having to be forced into something like that but eventually he found he had a great love for them. He was particularly gifted in basketball, probably due to his height, and was soon named team captain until he moved. Regardless, every school he attended he found a way to get onto a sports team if they had it. He's played soccer, basketball, baseball, and many others. Even if his time at those schools were short, he's always managed to leave a lasting impression on the coach and his old teammates that has spurred them on to win in his absence. He hasn't been in Panbakmoon for more than a couple of months but he's already looking for a sports team to join. He has his eyes on basketball or perhaps swimming but he can be persuaded to join the football team.
Secret One - She says "I Do", I say "I Don't": Kris's family has a long line of arranged marriages, his father's divorce and remarriage being the first in years, and tradition is still holding strong. Kris's father has recently told him of the girl who will one day become his wife and Kris is beyond furious about the ordeal. His father has ruled his life with an iron fist and now he has decided who he will be forced to love for the rest of his days. He does not believe in divorce, having seen the effects of it first hand and sees no other way out of the ordeal. He has nothing against the girl and is polite to her whenever he is forced to meet with her but he does not and will not love her. She was not chosen by his own heart and therefore she will never have it, even if she does have his children in the future.
Secret Two - I'll be Adam if you'll be Steve: The bigger reason Kris finds it hard to love the girl chosen to be his wife, he isn't sexually attracted to women. He noticed it when he was in his last years of middle school that his eyes strayed more upon his fellow male peers than they did on the females. He hasn't spoken of it to anyone, not even his mother or elder sister, and is afraid of what his father will do if he finds out. His inheritance is important to him and he doesn't know what he will do or who he will be if he is disowned by the family. His very life has been devoted towards making their legacy live on throughout the ages and to ruin that would leave a scar on his name forever. He doesn't do anything about his urges and prefers to sit in the darkness of his room alone, hurting himself to avoid hurting his family.

Jongin stormed his way back inside the manor, lips curled down as he tried to fight off the coming headache. His thoughts were in turmoil, questions flying around his brain faster than the Other could answer them. He just needed someone, anyone, to talk to. To voice his fears and worries and understand why he has to be here now. What could this person in his brain see in him that made him think he was superhero material. He's never done anything for anyone but himself and yet he has to save the world and return it back to how it once was? He hated his life before this and he's supposed to go back to that? Why should he? Here there was no one to tell him he's a disappointment. No teacher saying he could do better if he just applied himself. No principal giving him a last warning and a second chance before he was kicked out of school. He could make his own rules here, could be his own man and do what he wanted. Why should he jeopardize this for some fool's errand that could get him killed!
He felt his shoulder collide with someone, turning to glare at whoever it was. "Watch where the fuck you're going." His hands shot out, shoving the person away from him. Upon a later inspection he realized it was Suho but no sense of regret or remorse came to him. He was angry and frustrated, tears brimming in his eyes but he refused to let them fall. He wouldn't let any of them see him being so weak. He wouldn't let them baby him just because he was younger than them. He curled his hands into fists, chest heaving as he tried to understand the emotions raging through his mind and body. "I just want to go home..." His voice sounded smaller than he would have liked, head tilted down to let his hair shield his face as hot tears finally ran down his cheeks. "I don't want to fucking do this!"
