Thanks for posting that article... extremely informative, and sort of confirms my skepticism of elliptical machines that tell you how many calories you've burned after X number of minutes.

Yeah--I just thought the interesting part of the article was about how difficult it is to maintain weight loss, especially significant weight loss. Your body does learn new physiological set points, so if you've lived your life at a certain weight and metabolism, it is really freakin' difficult to get your body to accept a new, lower one. It gets worse as you get older, too. What works to keep weight off for me now won't be sufficient in another 5-10 years, but unfortunately my lifestyle will be going in a way that I won't be able to scale it up...Anyway, it's a discussion that really needs to be had regarding weight loss.

Also, no worries, I update so sporadically that I kind of expect long strings of comments on old entries.
