[Poetry!]

Well- I was going through my computer files and found this! I was going to post it back when I first wrote it for my Creative Writing class, but I forgot :P So here it is now!

Presenting *insert trumpet noise here* Bump in the Night! (It's my first poem in a long loooooooooong time xD)

Bump In The Night

The house reverberates with a deadly silence,

as the family goes out, leaving you on your own.

And who knows if you'll still be there when they return?

It's when they're gone that the house springs into sudden life.

Ordinary objects becoming horrible monsters;

There is a arm hanging limply at the door, it's fingers shining, even in the darkness as it hangs.

(Is it the arm of a monster's victim- or is it the monster itself- waiting to strike?)

Red eyes change, glaring downward

(the gaze making me uncomfortable, I burrow deeper into my cocoon of blankets)

Noises penetrate the once quiet house;

screeches reverberate punctuated occasionally by slurps and cries

(the unknown noises are scarier than the monsters you can see, 'cause you don't know where these monsters lurk.)

The lonely, yet crowed darkness is oppressive.

(It penetrates even this warm sanctuary of pulled-up covers.)
