Seunghyun was interrupted from his dinner by an impatient banging on the door. “The hell are you doing here?” He stammered when he answered the door, surprised to see the man who was to collect Taemin as payment if he couldn’t return the 20 million won. “It’s only been three days.”
“I’m aware of that.” Kangdae cracked his knuckles. “I’ve just come to check on my future prize. Unless you have a problem with that.”
“...Of course not.” Seunghyun welcomed him in, stepping aside and then walking him to the room. It was better to cooperate with this man than get on his bad side.
“Close the door.” Kangdae ordered, smirking down at Taemin with terrible intentions shining from his eyes.
When Seunghyun took Taemin away from Minho, he never intended the situation to turn to this. Honestly, he figured Minho would turn up the same day with a few million bucks and they’d be out of his hair quickly. But now he might have human trafficking, rape, kidnapping and imprisonment held against him if anyone were to find out. “Sir, do you think we might be able to ta-”
“Do as I say, Choi!” He yelled back.
“Yes...” Seunghyun closed the door and walked away, not willing to listen to any screams.
Taemin cowered into the bed like a child. His thin arms barely protected him but he tried anyway as he shook.
Kangdae smiled and crawled over him. “Come now, little one.” He cooed in a feigned gentle voice. “Are you afraid of ahjusshi?”
“Who are you...?” Taemin’s voice was small and shook with him. His eyes were fixed on the man’s, wide and filled with tears.
Kangdae only smiled. He worked off his belt and his large pants slid down his thighs. “You’re very pretty.” He yanked Taemin’s bottoms off without regard for his comfort and fondled his bare length.
“NO!” Taemin cried. He attempted to hit Kangdae, but he was overpowered with a heavy slap to the side of his face. For a few seconds he could hear and see nothing, leaving him vulnerable for anything.
“Don’t make me do that again.” Kangdae frowned. “This won’t take long if you just be a good boy.” Taemin felt a tip prod at his entrance and screamed.
“Sto-o-o-p!” He kicked and thrashed. He’d rather be beaten than have another man inside of him.
“You like it rough, don’t you?” The large man taunted him and pushed the tip in, ripping Taemin’s small body beyond its limits.
“Aahh, no!” He resisted as much as he could, but his words meant nothing. He needed an idea---quickly---to get this monster to stop. “I-I have HIV! Stop! STOP!!” He screamed without thinking. Of course it was a lie, but what did it matter in a situation like this?
Kangdae practically launched his body away from Taemin’s and clenched his teeth. “Are you fucking kidding me!? Say that again!”
Tears drenched Taemin’s cheeks; had he done it? “I’m HIV positive!” What a great lie. “I would have told you, but you forced yourself on me!”
Kangdae looked down at the tiny amount of blood that his size had drawn from Taemin and hastily wiped it off with his shirt, panicking. “Shit! Shit! You dirty fucking slut!”
Taemin laid half-naked on the bed, curled up in a tight ball trying to shield his body. He scrambled the sheets up and wrapped himself. With his eyes closed, he didn’t see Kangdae’s large open hand swing down and impale him right on his skull. He was sure he screamed from the pain, but the ringing in his head was louder than his own voice. He was pulled from the blankets and onto the floor. Slowly his hearing returned to him and he pleaded for Kangdae to stop. Instead, he was kicked in the stomach repeatedly, each time feeling a sharper stab from another loud crack.
“Boss!” A savior’s voice same through suddenly and the assault stopped. He couldn’t see, he could barely breathe above a pained wheeze, but things were dark and silent again. At least if he was going to die, it would be in peace now. He just wished he could see Minho one last time... as if he’d ever have his love again after being violated like this.
His life might as well be over already.

“Be careful. Don’t let him see the wire. Get in there and give me the signal as quickly as you can.” Minho instructed, running over the plans one last time with Key. He’d go in wearing a wired microphone to let Minho know the best time to enter.
“Relax. I’m not worried.” Key unbuckled his seatbelt and gave a reassuring smile.
Minho folded his arms and slumped deep into the driver’s seat of Key’s car. “Well I am.”
Key placed a hand on Minho’s shoulder. “I want Taemin out of this situation just as much as you do. I’m not going to do anything that will stop us from saving him.” With one last wink of confidence, he stepped out and into the shady apartment building, up to the place where Joon was expecting him. He checked the address in his phone before knocking on the door and then posing against the wooden frame.
Joon answered only seconds later, groaning in satisfaction to see Key dressed so invitingly. “Well you look delicious...”
“Wouldn’t you rather discover that with your mouth than your eyes?” Key let Joon lead him into the under-furnished apartment. He kept his eyes alert, watching carefully for any hint of Taemin or something that could put them in danger. “Nice place...” He said, rolling his eyes. It was the very opposite of nice.
Joon closed the door to his bedroom once they were alone inside. “So... you wanna get right to it?”
“Of course...” Key got on all fours on the bed and faced him. “You still have toys, right...?”
“Yow, my kitty is still ferocious~” Joon held Key’s chin and kissed him once. “What kind of toys do you want?”
Key shivered in disgust from the kiss, completely turned off by his foul, addict ex. He nearly strained the muscles in his face to smile. “Lay down and kitty will pick one~”
“Mmm, anything you say.” Joon obeyed.
Key moved to the closet where he knew some things would be: a whip, a gag, and most importantly, handcuffs. He chose the last item and turned to show it to the older. “Joonie has been a bad boy, hasn’t he~?”
Joon nodded excitedly, raising his arms so his wrists were together and in line with the metal bed frame.
Outside, Minho was laughing as he listened to the goings-on inside. “Is he for real?”
“Omo, Joonie, do you never learn?” Key cuffed Joon’s wrists and secured them to the bed frame. “You really are fucking stupid.”
“...Wha?” Joon blinked. “Hey, is this some kind of roleplay?”
“Nope, sorry.” Key got up from the bed and straightened his clothes. “But now that you’re out of the way, I have to find my friend. Thanks!”
That was Minho’s signal to move. He got out from the car, carrying a small handgun in his sleeve.
“YAH!” Joon began to scream. “THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?”
“Okay... we can’t have you screaming.” Key shook his head and got the gag from the closet, fighting with him to get it on tightly.
Seunghyun, interrupted from counting little bags of cocaine, looked up impatiently. “Joon! Stop yelli--” He turned his head only to have it collide with the tip of Minho’s gun. “Fuck.”
“Don’t move a centimeter or you’re dead.” Minho warned, thumbing back the hammer.
Seunghyun set his eyes forward, obeying. “...I didn’t want it to come to this.”
“I don’t care what you want.” Minho kept his eyes completely focused while Key slowly walked up behind him. “If Taemin is hurt, you’re going to die.”
Seunghyun closed his eyes. “Kill me now then.”
“Gladly, but not until Taemin is safely in my arms.” Minho glared. “Key, go look for him.”
“Ne.” He started down the hallway, pushing open every door. “Taemin-ah, it’s Key and Minho. If you can hear me, please call out.”
Minho glanced in his direction but was only met with Key’s unsure stare.
Key opened the last door and peeked inside. “It’s pitch black in here...”
“Hyung?” Taemin said in a weak voice, thinking he might be having a hallucination.
“Oh god...” Key covered his mouth and nose, overcome by the heavy smell of blood in the room. “Minho, you’d better come here.”
“Damnit!” Minho fired his gun, shooting Seunghyun in his upper thigh to keep him from being a problem. He ignored the screams---he barely heard them---and lost his breath when he finally laid eyes on Taemin after two weeks.
He was naked, painfully exposed. His torso was completely bruised; his arms and legs mangled from cuts and slaps; his pretty face was expressionless and swollen.
“Taemin.” He saw the younger’s eyes look up and felt his legs turn to jelly.
“Minho?” He asked quietly, barely using his voice.
Minho crawled onto the bed and cradled Taemin as gently as possible, not even noticing he was crying. “Baby, baby I’m so sorry. Oh my god, I’m so sorry...” He gathered blankets and wrapped Taemin snugly. “Am I hurting you?”
Taemin shook his head. “No,” He rested his head against Minho’s chest and clung to him with all of the strength he had left in his hands.
Minho heard his labored breathing. “I love you. I’m here now, I’m here now. I love you...”
“He touched me... another man touched me...” Taemin began to cry hard, finally letting his emotions out after building them up over this traumatic experience.
“I’ll kill them.” Minho promised as he attempted to clean Taemin up a bit with the blankets. “I’ll kill anyone who put their hands on you.” He turned toward Key, who was trembling on his own. “Call an ambulance here, he’s really hurt.”
“What about Seunghyun and Joon!?” He yelled back, freaking out.
“Forget about them! We’re just going to meet medics outside.” He picked Taemin up with the utmost care, kissing him gently on his bruised face the whole time. “They could starve to death for all I care!”
“Hyung,” Taemin spoke between cries.
“Yes baby?” Minho made his voice gentle and loving despite being furious over what had happened to him and stopped to give him an extra kiss.
“...Do you really still love me?”
Minho shook his head. “How could anything change that? Don’t even say something like that...”
From the mixture of exhaustion of not eating much and the trauma of being molested, Taemin slowly lost consciousness in the safe haven of Minho’s arms.
“Taemin?” Minho rocked the boy gently. “He’s out Key, we need to get him help...”
“Well I don’t think it’s a good idea to call an ambulance here!” Paranoia was starting to scare Key.
“Then, fucking drive us to the hospital!” Minho pushed the door to outside open with his back and walked to Key’s back car door.
“Alright, alright! Get in!”

If Minho were to guess why he would ever be in a hospital’s intensive care unit, he would say it would have been because of an overdose to something, that the drugs had finally done an irreversible number on him. But he wasn’t the one in the hospital bed, hooked into beeping monitors and intravenous fluids.
Taemin was admitted to the intensive care unit four days ago and wasn’t expected to leave anytime soon. He’d been sleeping the entire time, catching up on rest and just out from the multiple pain medications being given to him. And even though Key offered to stay for a few hours so Minho could go home and get some sleep, the dedicated boyfriend refused to leave Taemin’s side for even that. He just sat next to the bed, holding and stroking Taemin’s hand in his to know he was still alive.
“Good morning Minho-ssi.” Taemin’s nurse came in bright and early to refill the IV bags and check his vitals. “Haven’t you gotten any sleep?”
“I don’t need to sleep...” He answered, running a hand through his oily hair.
“Well we have shower facilities if you’d like to freshen up.” She commented politely on his unkempt appearance.
He got the hint and nodded. “That sounds nice, thank you...” Before following her to the showers, he kissed Taemin’s forehead and promised he wouldn’t be gone long.
The nurse offered him fresh clothes, a razor, and soap. He stepped into the hot shower and sighed; he really did need this... As he stood in the falling water, countless thoughts poured in; what could they do now? Would they run? Where could they live? He needed to get Taemin away from this city. Maybe they’d enjoy life by the shore for a while... Whatever he did, he needed to be better at it. He absolutely could not relapse again. Too much was at risk.
He dried off and dressed and returned to the room to see Taemin sitting up and smiling. “Hyung, annyeong.”
“When did you wake up?” Minho sat at the edge of the bed and kissed his hand. “I’m sorry I wasn’t here, I’m so sorry...”
“Don’t be sorry.” He touched Minho’s cheek. “I knew you were beside me all this time. I felt you kissing me.” He smiled tiredly, his eyes still making that crescent shape as usual.
“You are so beautiful...” Minho leaned in to hug Taemin closely, careful of his lingering bruises and cuts.
“Not like this...” Taemin disagreed but wrapped his arms around Minho as well.
“What do you mean not like this? It’s my fault you ended up in that awful fucking situation but regardless of what happened you’re completely perfect.” Minho reassured, looking into Taemin’s eyes sincerely.
The younger lowered his head, ashamed of the things that were done to him and the way he was violated. “You don’t know what happened...”
“I don’t need to know unless you want to tell me.” Minho spoke softly. “We can forget all about this. As far as I’m concerned, you’re still my Taemin and the promises I made to you still stand.”
“...Can I look at myself?” Taemin wanted a mirror. He needed to see the damage done to him.
“If you really want.” Minho took one from the hospital drawer.
He looked into the reflective glass to see his face, which was distinguishable despite the wounds. His right cheek was a bit swollen and red, making his eye puff closed a little. His lips were dry, his left ear bruised and swollen too. “It’s ugly...”
“Not to me.” Minho pouted. “Please don’t say that. Your swelling will go down soon...”
“Yes...” Taemin nodded, staying positive.
“I want to talk to you about a few things.” Minho held gingerly onto Taemin’s hand, careful not to obstruct the several IVs.
“Hmm?”
He took a small breath. “I’m going to take us out of Seoul. Would you like to live closer to the beach? I’ll get a job and support us both so you can live peacefully and happily. But before that I want to go to rehab...”
Taemin nodded, listening.
“I’m going for the 90 days...” He’d looked into a few programs in the hospital’s pamphlets. “I need professional help. Yeah, I feel fine now, but I want to be sure that I’ll continue to feel this way for the rest of my life. I’m going to be clean for you.”
Taemin laced their fingers and smiled. “I’m proud of you.”
“So you approve? About everything I said?”
“Yes. I’d like to be closer to my parents. They live in Gwangju.”
“Then we’ll move to Gwangju!”
Taemin giggled. “They would like that.”
“You can continue your schooling if you want. They have a nice university down there don’t they?” Minho didn’t want Taemin to regret anything about leaving Seoul.
“Mhm~” Taemin nodded. “But three months... it’ll be hard without you.”
Minho shook his head. “I’ll call you every morning, every day at lunch, and every night before bed.”
He nodded in acceptance. “You’re going to do great.”
They were about to kiss when they were interrupted by Minho’s cell phone.
“Minho, turn on the news right now!” Key yelled into the phone, even Taemin heard it and laughed.
“Sheesh alright, what channel?” He reached for the remote to turn on the small hospital television.
“It doesn’t matter!” Key answered excitedly.
“...Doesn’t matter...” Minho sighed, flipping through the low channels until he found it.
The young female anchor was covering a story, the headline at the bottom of the screen reading ‘Two men arrested in suspected drug trafficking activity.’
“Choi Seunghyun and Lee Joon were arrested after police were called by concerned neighbors, saying they heard a gunshot and screaming. When law enforcement arrived, they discovered over one-hundred pounds of cocaine and fifty pounds of marijuana packaged for sale. The two were treated for their wounds, which they refuse to explain to police how they occurred, and were taken into custody.” She explained.
“Well how about that...” Minho turned to look at Taemin who was crying . “Baby?”
“I’m happy... They deserve every punishment they get.” He wiped his eyes, careful of the bruises.
“They deserve more than that in my opinion...” Minho grimaced. “I’d kill them if I could.”
“Two wrongs don’t make a right.” Taemin said. “We have our life back, so let’s make the most of it.”
Minho smiled; where would he be right now if he hadn’t been saved by this patience, loving person? “...I love you.”
Taemin smiled brightly. “I love you too hyung. Forever and ever...”
