Title: Heartquake

Pairings: Yunjae

Rating: PG-13

Warnings: Girl!Jaejoong = Jaejun. Genderbender!

Disclaimer: Not mine. :(

Summary: It was harder than she had presumed. Much harder. Now the entire group knew about her secret. It wouldn't be long before the media finds out and hell breaks loose. It was most likely that she would be kicked out of the group unless her fans had any say in that. Then again, what fans? Those deluded teenage girls who believed that she was probably the most beautiful male out there? Those girls who thought of marrying Youngwoong Jaejoong in future? She scoffed. They could only marry him if he actually existed. It was a sad fact; no one like Youngwoong Jaejoong existed in this world. Only a girl by the name of Kim Jaejun did.

Slowly she sunk to her knees, gripping TVXQ's group picture to her chest. It would only be a matter of days before she could no longer call herself a part of famous band, that little family that they had created.

-

Jung Yunho. Jaejun smiled dreamily at the computer screen in front of her. He was the man of her dreams. The moment she had laid her eyes on him during that short cameo of him rapping in a music video, she had fallen heads over heels in love. Sure, she admired many stars and idols and even crushed after some but there was something about Jung Yunho that gravitated her towards him. Taking Kangta from H.O.T for example, she considered herself his biggest fan from the day he debuted to his recent song he released. However, it only took merely a few seconds of an appearance from Yunho on a video to make her blush at everyone of his thoughts.

Her eight older sisters called her an obsessive fangirl while her mother ignored this and demanded her to contribute to the housework. However, Jaejun knew very well that cooking, stitching and housekeeping was not in her blood. The want to dance and her passion for singing simply ran in her veins. She knew she was not the one to be caged inside a house, looking after kids and the kitchen, she was meant to go out there and display her talents to the world.

And that's exactly what she did. She ran away from home at the age of 16. Away from the demands of a big household, away from her prison. The next thing she knew, she was in Seoul. The heart of the entertainment industry. She housed with an old friend of hers, who had moved away from her hometown to find a career in the city. He had sheltered her, clothed her and fed her. He had even helped her get a fake ID and assured her worried parents that she was safe with him.

However, she knew everything came with a price. All his generosity had to be paid off. But what could she pay him with? It was not as if she lugged along a bag full of gold coins with her. So, she gave him only what a woman could. After all, a city boy did have his needs and what could be a better form of payment than a pretty girl's virginity.

Kim Jaejun auditioned to be a trainee under SM entertainment. Knowing that Yunho was trying to debut as a singer under a band, the only way to be enlisted under the same band as him was to audition as a boy. So, she did. She auditioned as Kim Jaejoong using her fake ID. The audition was nothing but a piece of cake to her. Her audition was considered the best audition of that year and not only that but she also won the best looking male title. She had inwardly smirked at that.

However, things after that was not as simple. Firstly, she was housing with 5 other boys. It was difficult to conceal her true identity while staying with the boys. Shared showers were common amongst the guys since there was limited water and time. She really had to wreck her brains for excuses until the boys finally passed her off as a shy guy. This was only one of the many problems she had encountered. However, she tolerated it all because at least there was something good that came out of it. She didn't know whether to call it fate or luck but one of her housemates happened to be Jung Yunho. She barely keep herself from fainting when he had approached her and introduced himself as her housemate. What excited her further was when the management had put her, Yunho and two other guys to train together, telling them that they would probably form a group.

Heechul, one of the two other guys, had been suspicious of her all the while. He always commented on how she was too lanky to be a boy or how her face was too feminine despite his own androgynous looks. It only took him a few days to figure Jaejun out when he walked in on her changing. Jaejun thought that that had been the end of her so-called career. Surprisingly, he had put his arms around her and comforted her as she broke down despite their poor relationship in the past.

“Your secret is safe with me, Jaejoong,” he had mumbled into her hair while holding her, “But, you have be very careful from now onwards. You can't just let everyone figure this out. You have already allowed me to confirm my suspicions but not everyone will be agreeable to you debuting in this band as a girl. You hear me? You have to very, very careful. But, I'll have you know that if you face any problems or have any concerns, you can come to me alright? I do my best in helping you to the best of my abilities.”

And that was how Heechul and Jaejun came to be such good friends. However, when news was announced that Yunho and her were debuting as band called 'Dong Bang Shin Ki' with three other strangers, insecurities had flooded Jaejun. Heechul had been her support all along but with him gone, who was she going to turn to?

It was then they were introduced to a cute looking guy by the name of Kim Junsu whom Yunho knew quite well since they had lived together previously, a Korean-American named Park Yoochun and a highschooler Shim Changmin.

Jaejun had been skeptical about the group as all of them came from such different backgrounds. She rather be with the rest of the 'four seasons' instead since the teamwork between them had be supreme. However, her thoughts began to change as they released their first single and album. She started to build better relations with the rest of the group. The response from the fans and their popularity further fueled their teamwork and before any of them knew it they started to rise as top idols.

Their relationship as strangers soon changed to that of extremely close friends. Jaejun and Yoochun became something like soulmates. Their interests, their thoughts were so alike that they were known as brain twins. The deep relationship between the two allowed them to share almost everything with each other from clothes to food to a room.

As for Junsu, she loved making fun of the infamous dolphin and duckbutt. However, despite their teasing ways, at the end of the day, the two came together through sharing the same kind of passion towards music.

On the other hand, the relationship between Changmin and her was a special one. They were known as soulfighters, constantly at each other necks. Changmin, being his snarky old self, would say something piss Jaejun off and she would retaliate by hitting him. They were truly soulfighters.

As for Yunho, the one reason why Jaejun found herself in such a predicament, was her best friend. Being of the same age and knowing each other for some time, they easily spoke of their worries with each other. They constantly shared jokes and brightened each other's day. However, Jaejun didn't want this. She wanted something else. Something deeper, something more. Something...like lovers.

But she knew that it couldn't be. Afterall, she was Kim Jaejoong to them. A male. A member. A brother-like figure. Only until Yoochun found out.

“You are a girl, aren't you?” He had whispered as the two laid in bed in the room immersed in darkness after a day worth of hardwork.

Jaejun did not know what to say.

“I know you are,” Yoochun continued as he heard silence from Jaejoong's side of the room. “You know, I won't tell anyone but you gotta be careful, yeah?”

His reaction had been akin to that of Heechul's, for that Jaejun was glad. From that day onwards, Soulmates were closer than ever. Yoochun had even grown a protective stake over her.

Then the day came. It had been a silly argument between the members which had intensified to such levels that it ended with Jaejun spilling out her real identity, she had literally screamed out that she was girl.

Silence had ensued until she ran away from the scene, into her room, slamming the door shut.

-

She silently sobbed, knowing that everything she had worked for was over. She could hear voices in the living room, the boys were talking in harsh, hushed whispers.

The next thing she knew was the door being thrown open, a seething Yunho stood at the doorway. “I can't believe you lied to me!”

She cowered further, holding herself in tight ball, clutching the photo frame to her. “I'm sorry, I didn't mean to,” She mumbled between her heart-wrenching cries.

“I can't believe I put so much trust in you, loved you like a sibling yet you betrayed that trust. How could you hide something so big from me? I thought we were best friends!” Yunho yelled at he lithe form of the girl.

The other three rushed towards the room upon hearing the yells, towering behind Yunho.

“Yunho-hyung!” Yoochun defended as he saw the state that Jaejun was in. Changmin eyed her skeptically, not knowing what to do or how to behave around a girl while Junsu watched her with pity in his eyes.

Yoochun pushed past Yunho towards Jaejun, wrapping his arms around her shaking form. Junsu followed Yoochun's suit and joined him in comforting the girl. Combing his fingers through her short hair, he tried sooth the girl. All the while, Yunho and Changmin watched the scene unfold before them.

“The management needs to know about this,” Yunho finally said. The three on the floor looked up at their leaders, fear evident on their faces.

“No!” Yoochun protested. “If the management finds out, Jaejun would most likely have to leave the group.”

“You don't think they would find out about sooner or later?” Yunho asked, “It might be easy to hide the fact since she is just a young girl. The older she gets, the harder it would be.”

“We are going to tell the management.” And that was it.

-

The following few days were probably the worst, the most hectic days of Jaejun's life. Headlines of Kim Jaejoong being a girl splashed across several newspapers and magazines. Television reports and radio news covered it all. Everything was in a uproar. Fans' reactions were of all kinds. Some felt deceived, some raised their eyebrows, others refuse to buy it. Even the management found it hard to conceive the information.

The next few weeks went by like a daze. All TVXQ activities were on hold as the management tried to find a verdict. However, the situation was still very unstable. The band had lost many fans while other fans rooted firm. They had even gathered new fans over this short period of time. Male fans to be exact. Overall, it was a life-changing experience.

Many a times, Jaejun almost found herself being kicked out from the group while at other times her hopes were built up with the support of her fans. Finally, the day arrived when they declared TVXQ a mixed group.

The members had rejoiced and so did the fans though there were still many people who upset over the situation.

-

Years down the road...

“In my heart, you are there,” Yunho whispered, looking right into Jaejun's eyes, almost staring into her soul.

“Yunho-ah!” Jaejun gasped out, emotions taking a toll on her voice. Without a second thought, Jaejun launched herself into Yunho's embrace, holding him close to her.

“Cut. Okay!” The director called as the two broke apart from their embrace. Jaejun smiled slightly as the two pretended to barf, almost as if they hated the idea of being intimate but deep inside, it was a completely different story.

-

“Yunho-shii, the fans want to know what type of woman is your ideal kind,” The interviewer requested.

Bringing the mic closer to himself, Yunho smiled and answered. “Someone who is brave, someone who works towards what she wants, someone like...” He shook his head and continued. “Someone who makes a good friend.”

-

“One more please!” Jaejun said as she raised her glass for a refill. Hyunjoong slumped against her, slobbering down her neck. She vainly pushed him away which only resulted in him swinging his deadweight around like a pendulum and returned right back to his previous position, breathing down her neck. Seunghyun merely smirked at the duo before pulling Hyunjoong off the girl before he crushed her to death.

“I think that's enough for today, Jun,” Seunghyun said but was blatantly ignored as she got her drink and drowned it in one shot.

“Jaejunnie ah!” Hyunjoong slurred. “Marry me?” He tried to give his mega-watt smile but ended up giggling.

“Yah!” She yelled. “Get off me you drunkard.”

“Kim Jaejun!” A voice boomed nearby as Jaejun looked around with half-lidded eyes, squinting at Yunho's fuming face.

“Ahh! My lovely Yunho,” She cooed, impossibly drunk as well.

“Aish! What am I going to do with you?” He asked as he looped arm around a passed out Yoochun and the other around Jaejun, pulling her up from her seat.

“Yah! Let go of me, you bastard.” She shoved his hand away and tried to grab onto another drink. “I still wanna drink!”

Rubbing his forehead with his free hand, Yunho put the slowly awakening Yoochun onto a seat before going over to Jaejun, turning a deaf ear to her protests and hoisting her over his shoulder. Yunho carried the kicking and yelling Jaejun as he grabbed Yoochun before making his way out of the bar.

Seunghyun ordered himself another drink. 'Well, that was entertaining.'

-

“Minnnie-ah, leave some for me, will you?” Jaejun said as she piled another pancake onto his plate. The boy continued munching, shooting her a grin, mismatched eyes and all. She rolled her eyes at his attempt at cuteness, which itself was rare.

She then poured the batter onto the pan for Yunho's batch of pancakes as she eyed the four monkeys at the dinning table. Yunho was not being his usual playful self and was actually reading the newspaper silently, sipping on his cup of coffee. He truly portrayed the image of being the band's appa, at that Jaejun shot him a fond smile. It really tugged at her heartstrings whenever Yunho appeared all manly and masculine.

However the soothing image was spoilt as the noise from the bickering duo evaded her happy bubble. Junsu was practically inhaling his breakfast at the speed he was eating while Yoochun was complaining that he wanted those square pancakes that Jaejun had made specially for the soccer-loving singer.

She quickly switched from making a regular pancake to making a square one. The band appa could wait for his pancakes, the kids needed to fed. He could enjoy his breakfast with Jaejun later when she too sat down to eat hers.

-

“Changmin-oppa!” girls squealed as they saw boys exiting the airport. The fans were barricaded as the idol group members were being led to their van. Banners were put up and signs were waved around as the fans enthusiastically sought for a chance to meet their idols.

“Oppa! Marry me!” girls continued to scream, hoping that their prince charming would spare them a glance.

Jaejun tended to get claustrophobic having too many people surround her. This feeling of being suffocated further escalated after suffering though a long flight. She groaned as she tried to block out the noise and view.

“So what do you think I should get? Chocolate and mint cookies or a strawberry sundae? Hmm?” Yunho put a arm around her waist subtly as he looked down at her, eyebrows raised in question.

“The strawberry sundae but only if you share it with me!” Jaejun said as they continued to push through the crowd, not realizing that it was effectively taking her mind off the screaming crowd of fans

“Now...who said anything about sharing? I was just wanting an opinion,” Yunho teased and laughed as he saw a trademark pout forming on Jaejun pink luscious lips.

“Yunnie!”

Yunho just laughed as he led her towards the car. The claustrophobic feeling and fans long forgotten. Now his only worry was where he was going to get the wons to buy the princess a strawberry sundae after just having arrived from Japan with his wallet only containing a few yens.

-

Then, of course, there were days when the time of month came, the boys tended to stay from the only girl member. They would be mindful of their acts and words, trying their best not to provoke the girl.

“...and then he just walked off! Can you believe it! Walked off!” Jaejun growled as she shoved another piece of chocolate in her mouth. Changmin nodded sympathetically, patting her shoulder though he had lost her half-way into the conversation but of course, Jaejun did not need to know that. And as if to compensate, he fished out another bar of chocolate from his secret stash, offering it to her who quickly took it and ripped off the warper before devouring the chocolaty goodness.

Life was good when you had dongsengs like him.

-

Shopping was always very fun. At least in Jaejun's opinion while Junsu thought the opposite for he rather spent those precious hours catching up to latest soccer matches instead. However, Jaejun usually took this chance to drive the 4 metal rather than the other way round.

“Let's go that shop, the one over there!” Jaejun pointed and others around her just groaned, their feet aching and stiff.

“Come on!” She said, grabbing any random two hands and dragging them towards the direction of the shop. They would trudge forward, simply complying her commands. Poor Yunho would be ladened with her shopping bags as she would happily prance forward, holding almost nothing in her hands. Well, that was the benefit when you have so many boys following you around.

-

The concert was on. The music was thumping and the beat was pumping. Adrenaline coursed throughout everyone's body.

The SM idols were running up and down the stage, spraying each other water, shooting silly stings or randomly flailing their arms around.

Yunho chased after Jaejun who had mercilessly dumped a bottle of water over his head. Dodging passed Sooyoung and Jonghyun, Yunho did not require much time to catch up to her. Yunho grabbed onto her waist and lifted her up high above. Jaejun laughed out loud yet pretending not to like her treatment.

As the fans continue to chant 'Yunjae', Yunho put her down, bringing his lips to her ears. “I love you.”

“I love you too.” With that they sealed their love with a kiss.

The crowd roared.

--

“I'm pregnant.” Her voice resounded throughout the entire dinning room.

Changmin stopped chewing. Junsu's eyes had widened. Yoochun dropped his chopsticks. Yunho, for the first time ever, fainted.

-

Kim Jaejun, now known as Jung Jaejun, is well-known for having the best face of Asia. Topping polls for being good-looking. Having one of the best bodies around. She scoffed as she looked into the mirror.

“Fat.” She commented as she looked at her 7-month pregnant belly.

“Beautiful.” A husky voice whispered into her ear. Yunho wound his arms around her, caressing the extended surface, feeling the movement of his child against its mother's womb.

“A beautiful mother of my equally beautiful child.” He said.

At this, a smile ghosted upon Jaejun's face.

“A handsome father for my equally handsome child.”

-

Jaejun screamed. All she could feel was pain surrounding her. She could see Yunho's worried face blurred by a film of tears in her eyes.

“You can do this, Jaejun,” Yunho whispered to his wife, who probably did not hear those love-filled words through her pain.

“Just one last push, Mrs. Jung,” The doctor encouraged. Jaejun put in every ounce of energy that was left within her after 18 hours of labour into her last push.

Just then, time seemed to have stopped as they heard the first cries of their child. Jaejun's pain was long forgotten and numbed as her baby boy was placed upon her chest. With a shaky hand, she carefully caressed the top of his head, tears leaking out of her eyes.

She glanced up at her husband, who in the same state as her. Tears dripping down his exhausted face. Yunho bent down to kiss his lovely wife upon her head as they continued to cry. This time with tears of immense joy.

-

Changmin highlighted certain keywords on his textbook. His eyes wandering over the sea of words. Without taking his eyes of the paragraph, he plucked out child-safe toy block out of Jung Hyo's mouth replacing it was a sanitized pacifer.

Hyo made a face at his hyung before spitting out the offensive object in his mouth before crawling over find the yummy-looking toy block again.

-

Jaejun placed the last duvet on the living room floor. They had pushed all furniture against the walls as they made space for a sleepover. The center of the room was cushioned with various sheets, blankets and duvets, making the room feel cozy and warm. The wood in the fireplace burned with a cackle as Yunho put the heating to full blast. The atmosphere of the room with a cozy temperature and dim lights made one feel lethargic after a day full of recording and singing.

Hyo gurgled happily as he sat in the center of cozy nest of pillows and comforters. Jaejun gently placed herself next to her beloved son, kissing the top of his head. Yunho followed the suit, joining his little family on the floor. Changmin then placed his lanky body next to Jaejun, nuzzling into her arm. Jaejun smiled at her one-touch dongseng, putting a motherly arm around him. The other two kids, Yoochun and Junsu, found their place next to Yunho, who gladly welcomed them to join the family space.

Together Dong Bang Shin Ki and the newly added junior slept peacefully throughout the winter night. The snow continued to fall outside, creating a haven of white fluff. Yet the chill did not reach any of them as the warmth of the family kept them safe.
