It was quite an event. A marriage between the Parks and the Kims. Of course, it had to be a big event, it was not your everyday reunion of two souls. It was reunion between the heir of the Park Cooperation and the cousin of the almighty heir of the Kim Industries. It did not only bring the two in love together but also forged better ties between the two companies. The young couple, Park Yoochun and now Park Junsu, greeted the guests as they were being congratulated on behalf of their wedding. However, in midst of the all the chattering within the reception room, a conversation between a father and his son-in-law stood out most.
“It has clearly been a while since we last saw our daughter, I would have never thought that married life would take our daughter away from us.” The older man sighed wistfully while the younger could not help but offer a helpless smile.
“I've been telling Jaejun to take a break from her hectic life and visit her parents but the burden of a fast-paced career and caring after a child leaves her no time to relax or at least take a breather.” Yunho replied, shifting his arms a little under the weight of the boy he was carrying. Sleeping 3 year old boys do weary you out after carrying them around for an hour especially in a congested reception area.
“She has grown up so much.” Jaejun's father, Kim Hyunhae, said almost regretfully as he eyed her from where he was standing. Seeing her dress so elegantly, speaking to guests so eloquently, holding herself up like a high class lady made Hyunhae wonder where did the little girl who stirred up mischief at every chance she got had gone to. The little brat who caused trouble for her older brothers, the little brat who annoyed her mother just because she refused to eat her vegetables, the little brat who used to hid under her father's table whenever her nanny chased her around in order to get her to bath. It was almost if one day a little imp existed and the other, a classy and well-mannered lady stood in her position.
“It's true what they say about having children. It changes a person so much.” Hyunhae continued and Yunho couldn't help but nod because the words applied to him as well. However, before they could continue their conversation, the little boy in Yunho's arms started to awaken. Fidgeting a little in his father's hold, Changmin groaned as he rubbed his eyes with tiny balled fists.
“Umma...?” The first person a child always looked for, their mother.
“She should be somewhere nearby, Minnie,” Yunho tried to calm the boy but from the tremble of his lips and the watering of his eyes, Yunho took this as a sign that his son was going to bawl pretty soon.
Hyunhae who had already spotted Jaejun, quickly waved her over before his grandson could cause an upheaval. Jaejun politely excused herself before striding over.
Seeing her son feeling cranky and about to spill his tears, Jaejun took him from her husband's arms, cooing at the kid. Almost immediately, Changmin calmed down after being enveloped within his mother's arms.
“You look a like a perfect family.” Hyunhae commented looking at his daughter holding his grandchild and Yunho looking over them. “I'm glad you found each other.”
Jaejun and Yunho tried to smile at the compliment but the emotions in the eyes betrayed their outward feelings.

“You absolutely have to go!” Junsu exclaimed as he plopped himself onto his cousin's bed. “This is like the best party of the year or even the century. You can't just miss it!”
“But I barely know anyone, Junsu, how can I just go there.” Jaejun's muffled voice came from under the blankets as she cocooned herself further.
“You basically know everyone! Hyunjoong is gonna be there, Seunghyun as well and not mention Yoochunnie!”Junsu flailed on the bed, bouncing a little and trying very hard to convince his cousin “The entire campus is going! How can you miss something as big as Jung Yunho's 20th birthday!”
-
Jaejun still couldn't figure out how her duckbutt of a cousin had managed to convince her to attend the so-called party of the year. Maybe it was him mentioning something about free flow booze. Jaejun had become quite a drinker ever since she turned 18 two years ago.
Jaejun also couldn't remember how many drinks she had which caused to be so easily swept into Jung Yunho's arms as they ground against each other on the dance floor. The grinding and hands that freely roamed up and down each other body had quickly led them into a private room in the hotel above the club/bar.
What followed next was of course inevitable. Clothes bring discarded as they explored each other anew. The night was spent in the throes of passion though unfortunately under the influence of alcohol.
The only thing that Jaejun could remember was waking up the next morning with a headache so massive that could have been the worst hangover she ever had. Though the head-splitting pain did not stop her from shrieking when she found out she had woken up at 11.47 a.m next to the birthday boy sans clothing. Yunho had then woken up with a jolt upon hearing the ear-piercing yell.
Without a word to each other, they had put on their partying clothes and left the room after clearing the bills.
-
For the next two weeks, Jaejun lived her live in complete fear. She had already gotten her HIV test done which thankfully turned out negative. However, it didn't explain her nausea and the dizziness she felt. In the third week, she got her suspicions confirmed as the pregnancy test came back positive. She thought of killing herself then and there.
There was no way she was going to leak this information to her family members because firstly, she would tarnish her prestigious family reputation which her father had worked so hard to maintain. Secondly, if the media found out about this, the news would be splashed across many newspapers and magazines. Thirdly, Jung Yunho would not be able to live to see another day as her eight older brothers would personally murder him.
Which was why she had booked a table in the town's best French restaurant for a meeting with Yunho.
“I'm pregnant.” Were the first words she shot at him the moment he sat down across her.
“And no.” She cut off him off before he could even open his mouth. “I'm not getting an abortion. It's against the morals I have been brought up with. You're going to take responsibility.”
The bluntness and the straightforwardness of Jaejun's statement had got Yunho thinking. A bubble of silence surrounded them as their orders were placed on the table.
“Marry me.” As blunt as Jaejun was, Yunho could be eqaully blunt.
Jaejun nearly dropped her knife as she stared at Yunho incredulously.
“I know you don't want the news to reach our parents and I'm hoping it does not because I, like yourself, have a reputation to maintain. We can dissolve the situation if we get married as soon as possible. And we can say that the baby came earlier than its time.” Yunho presented his solution and Jaejun could only nod her head in agreement.
Both set of parents were surprised when their children requested a marriage as soon as possible. However, who were they to argue when their children had chosen such reputable family to marry into.
The wedding was rushed occasion. A simple court marriage, inviting only family and close friends. Then there was entire shifting process to their new house and Jaejun's announcement of dropping her studies which shocked all.
7 months later Jung Changmin was welcomed into the world. All the relatives had fussed over how big Changmin was considering he was 2 months premature. Unknown to all, Changmin was very much late as Jaejun had carried him for nearly 9 ½ months.
They were the perfect family in everyone's eyes as they saw Yunho who took over his father's business as the CEO of Jung ltd, Jaejun who was now managing the Kim's hotel chain and prodigy child Changmin to complete their perfect family.
What they couldn't see were the lies behind this very perfect marriage.
-
They were all seated around the table during the wedding dinner. Yoochun and his parents and Junsu with his adoptive family consisting of the Kim parents and Jung family.
“Now that our only son, Yoochun, is married, I'm looking forward to having grandchildren.” Mrs. Park exclaimed excitedly. “I know that both of you are guys but there is always an option of adoption or getting a surrogate.”
“I understand your excitement, Umma but Junsu and I would like to enjoy our married life before children come into the picture.” Yoochun said which caused smiles and light laughter around the table. However, to Jaejun and Yunho's the statement was a like jab at their heart as they could never relish what it felt to be in love and marry the one you loved.
“I've been asking Jaejun to think about having a second child but would she ever listen to me.” Mrs. Kim mockingly sighed. “The smaller the age gap between siblings the better is what I say.”
“Umma!” Jaejun chided lightly, embarrassed of the topic which they were conversing upon.
“Well, you can't blame me for wanting to have as many grandchildren as possible.” Mrs. Kim retaliated.
“We will think about it when the time is right. Jaejun has been so busy and tired with her job while taking care of Changmin at the time. It's taking a toll on her.” Yunho explained the situation as he put two extra pieces of meat onto Jaejun's plate, making it look like as if he were a caring husband. On the contrary, Jaejun glared at his hand. Their relationship was so shallow that Yunho didn't even know that Jaejun tended to cut down on the meat and preferred lighter meals instead. Despite the mistake, Jaejun tried to present everyone with a smile. She had to, after all, keep up a deceptive exterior for the sake of her family.
“I really hope that our marriage would be as prosperous as yours, Yunho hyung.” Yoochun commented, receiving nods from everyone at the table.
Jaejun and Yunho were the only ones who thought that Yoochun was making a silly mistake by wanting a marriage like theirs.
-
Yunho watched his wife as she got ready for bed. She looked into the mirror as she combed her black tresses which framed her porcelain face beautifully. In the 3 years of marriage, Jaejun had only become much more dazzling and lady like. So stunning where her looks that other men could not take their eyes off her despite her marital status. As for Yunho, he could not help but feel a tinge of jealousy whenever men blatantly ogled at his wife.
“Why are you not sleeping?” She asked without diverting her eyes at the man.
“No reason.”
“You ought to be asleep, you have an early fight tomorrow.” She finally put her comb down before slipping into her side of the bed.
“Right. Goodnight then.” A simple greeting. Not too formal yet not too intimate either. However it was nothing like receiving a kiss goodnight from a lover.
“You have packed your bag right?” Jaejun questioned as she received a 'hmm' in reply.
“I hope you have put in extra jackets. It's really cold in Japan at the moment.” She advised, yet again hearing a 'hmm'
There was a moment of silence before Yunho spoke up.
“What can I get for you from Japan?”
“Have I ever, in the 3 years of our marriage, asked you for something whenever you go on trips like these?” A question to a question.
“Never. But, I always hope that one day you might.”
Jaejun only scoffed in return.
“Do remember to keep your promise to Changmin.” She said instead.
“Of course, he has been on about getting that game since forever.”
An ideal wife for an ideal husband however both caught in an unideal bond.
