If someone sees you as their confidant or best friend they will vent about things that they know they have no solution to and/or can't do anything about. It's frustrating to hear it and it can get annoying; but it's kind of a gift. Your mom is the type to vent and vent; but doesn't want to hear answers from other people despite all the venting. She's the type to come to her own conclusions on her own watch. She's also the type to take into consideration your feelings about their arguing if you bring it up in a quiet, concerned manner. Tell her how you feel; but don't stop listening. I don't think she expects you to do anything about it.

I know it is! I do it too and I know I frustrate the hell out of people. However, those who listen and then say, "what do you want me to do about it?" Just make me want to strangle the fuck out of them. She probably knows it frustrates you too.

*sigh* Why are people so complicated?
