A little more than ten years ago, I remember standing in front of a judge, wearing shackles, trying to explain why he shouldn't send me to county jail. Today, I sat with a judge at my law school who decided to share the secret to his chili recipe with me.

It's a goddamn trip.

Oh, nothing too dastardly. I just went a couple of times for unpaid tickets.
