So, a few weeks ago I saw my doctor for a routine visit. And we were talking about the headaches and the pelvic pain I've just sort of been living with because there aren't any good management options. looking at the ingredients you ARE allowed to eat, what about just a good ole' beans and rice kind of thing? At least once a week we make rice, saute a white or yellow onion with a sliced green pepper, make some black beans...voila. I don't know why, but I find it so satisfying and you can adjust the flavors/ingredients/spiciness to suit your mood ( ... )

thanks! I often eat beans and rice, and I'm totally with you on the comfort and satisfaction of it. I think it's because there's TONS of fiber.

That other recipe looks good too. I've been using some ground turkey, and you're right that sausage is a problem, but not because of cheese. It actually almost always has corn or corn syrup in it. So suck. But pure turkey is usually ok.

Just be forewarned, the chard recipe is incredibly filling. I made a mistake of doubling the recipe the first time I made it.

Yeah I've been eating a lot of steamed veggies and rice. I wish I could get behind fish a little more but it's just hard for me to get excited about eating.

That's a good idea about indian food. I've done some looking at things like that, and maybe I can make some simple substitutions. I don't often know what's in the various things in indian food so I've been a little hesitant in case of soy or wheat hiding in processed suggestions.

And I have been eating TONS of hummus and rice crackers :)

I guess the real struggle is being able to make this stuff up a little ahead of time so I can grab it for lunch throughout the week. That's the tough meal at this point.

Mostly, I think I just miss certain things like sugar and cheese, and there really aren't good substitutes. I'm not big on baking, but I might make some fruit breads with like brown rice flour or something just to have something sweet to nosh on.

If I have food allergies, I'm coming to live with you and forcing you to cook for me.

Fish is one of those things that I understand people buying in restaurants. The work:yield ratio on fish is just too high if you don't have the love of cooking to balance it out. Though, if you know an asian market that sells and butchers fish, you can get them to do 80% of the work for you. Then just stuff it with some herbs and throw it under the broiler for 5 minutes. Salt and olive oil and it's a pretty good meal ( ... )

Well, it's not that bad because there's a time limit. If I have to live like this permanently, it will be very expensive and time consuming. I already threatened suicide if I never get to have another Toblerone.

It's not fair how delicious they are. You're a good man. Phil told me if I could never have toblerone again, he would swear it off forever too. Now, just need to add that to the prenup.
