cross country movers suck. every time my family moved long distance they broke things, or lost them! you know what's cool though? one time my sister inadvertently started the kitchen on fire. destroyed the entire kitchen, and the upstairs bathroom. my parents got such better stuff when they filed their claim, and it was our fault! as long as you don't let the insurance companies take you for a ride (which i'm positive YOU won't). you can come out on top. find some new furniture you adore in the same price range. take advantage of this opportunity to redecorate for free. i know you wanted your very own furniture in one piece, but how often do you get new furniture or something along those lines for free?

and your parents are right, momentos are what matter....furniture will ALWAYS have to be replaced someday. now you have even longer before you have to foot the bill. good luck deirdre.

aww thank you. they are having an adjustor contact me and hopefully things will work out smoothly. i have alot to scrapes and surface damage which i think i can work out...its just the missing chunks i'm really pissed about. i need to buy somemore furnature anyways (table/chairs). i just learned my lesson and next time i move i'm doing it myself where i can be super anal and bubble wrap my desk. heh. serious.

i prefer disposable furniture, until i get a house. fuck bubble wrapping the desk! i don't even like boxes. i just moved kyann, and for gods sake...i decided i am not buying any more real glasses as long as i'm a bachelor. plastic dishes, and cups it is. maybe even bean bags instead of couches. i'm dreading the move back to phoenix. ack.

heh i know i should still be doing the whole disposable furniture bit but i just am so not a fan. most of my stuff last year that wasnt provided was that white particle board shit. i need to hit ikea when it opens. so when do you think you're moving?

So does this mean that my couch should be coming soon since they were gonna come together?!?!?! Also...it might not be the worst thing that they took out part of your furniture...I had Richies old desk that I didn't really want but I wanted something for my TV to go on for the meantime. The movers busted it, and then they asked me how much it costed, i told them i didn't remember, so then I got to name a price. I didn't even want the desk, but I got money for it. So, maybe you can just name your price high, buy the same furniture again, and then have money to do something exciting with! You might be making out like a bandit when all is said and done!
